I already use my Valentine 1 on my VFR, and I get my audio and visual alerts via a Radar Screamer and H.A.R.D. System. It works pretty good since I have the V1 mounted on the windscreen, and it's close enough to the headlight reflectors that I catch LASER scatter on the bike better than when it's mounted in my car. But getting everything to work together was a logistical and wiring nightmare... Anyway, I like that this product is geared solely for motorcyclists, but I would have to see it tested against some of the best detectors on the market today before I would buy one.

I need a radar in the worst way. I've alreay had my free warning this year. 70 in a 45. Salesman of the year contender. Luckily it was a motorcycle cop or I would have been toast.

I agree. I would buy it if it compared well with a V-1 or newer Escort.

I too am very interested in purchasing a detector this year. As I use an MP3 player when on longer rides, wondering
how the wireless 'in helmet beeper' would work with earphones in? I know they offer a visual LED warning, but but but, well I don't know,
just . . . . someone else buy it and let us all know. Still have 3+ months before riding season here.

I am guilty as anyone for speeding and not a little bit, I mean flat out fast. Not on city streets but hit the open road and I'm just a blur. I love the sound of the bike at 200 km/h and more. Now I am an avid believer in safe speeding and for protection I use the Whistler Cruisader. It has saved my A$$ too many times. The price is coming down, when I got mine it was $200 and that included the in helmet led display which is what makes this kit really worth the money. The in dash LED can't be seen during the day so in order for you to know that "The Man" is watching you need the light in your eye. Check it out here

All I have left to do is to install the optional LED. It flashes red if anyone wanted to know.

I like the big buttons...easy to use even with gloves on. I would get the LED or wireless alert because I don't think the audio alert from the unit itself would be loud enough to hear at hwy speeds. Then again I do ride with my ipod so I probably wouldn't hear the audio alert.


The sportbike mount they sell is too short for a VFR. The mount needs to be about 2.5 or 3 inches taller if you want the detector to 'see' over the dash board. I emailed Wayne of TPX to see if they sell a taller mount. If they don't, I"ll have to order a RAM mount for it.

The unit is supposed to be weather resistant so it can be used in the rain. I'm just trying to remember the last time I saw a speed trap while it was raining.

I'll have to wait for the roads to clear up before I take this unit out for a test run evaluation.
