It almost looks like it just rolled off the assembly line. Very nice restoration.

Thanks to member keny for posting in the first place!

The owner has done a remarkable job on the bike, if you check any of the classic bikes out of Japan they have a great nack for turning a classic into a modern. I think they look far better than a lot of the newer sport bikes ...... heres a few examples ... ;)

Hey, SEBSPEED, thanks for setting-up a separate thread on this discussion. That other one was getting out of hand.

There are many things to admire on this VFR. For me, it is the exhaust. Take a close look (the low-to-the-ground, left side shot) and the other shot, focusing on the exhaust. Look at the way those exhaust pipes are run. I've known for quite some time that HRC made a Titanium exhaust system for VFRs of this vintage. I guess that is it. (Or, some wonderful after-market / pattern part / replica.) However, these shots don't look all that old, and that exhaust looks rather new, pristine.

Man, would I love to get my hands on an exhaust system like that little puppy.

RC ..... here is the real deal. I was going to post it on the other thread, but might work better here. ... I'm going to say that the pipe on the bike is a pretty sweet replica, or one of only a few that were produced. You can bet the price tag would be an eye opener.

Drooool. My first VFR was an '86 750. Man I miss that bike. Some bastard stole it while I was in college. :pissed:

Just for clarification, when you say, "real deal," you're saying this IS the HRC Titanium Exhaust, right? (on your buddy's bike)

Why do I ask? Well, because I KNOW that Kerker once made a full-system exhaust for the VFR750F (RC24), and I can't help but notice the Kerker can on this exhaust system you are showing.

So, the system in the pic is the HRC Titanium, with a Kerker can, right?

RC, in speaking with Brian (the owner) he informs me that Honda approched Kerker to supply a can for certain tracks that they ran as the original was to long for tuning purposes. Kerker did make a very limited replica as part of the deal. The pipe on the bike is how it completed its last race.

Hey, "XS," thank you for the information. I've been curious about all this for quite some time, because a friend has an '87 700cc "Interceptor" (Pearl White), with a Kerker full system installed - it REALLY sounds good. The pipes are run quite differently than that HRC system you are showing. (Absolutely the BEST view of the system I've ever seen, by the way.) She purchased the bike off of Craig's List, and we've never quite been able to figure out the history, background of some of this stuff. All this makes me want to get on Kerker's case about re-kindling the production of their system for this vintage VFR, but I'd never, ever be able to convince them that there was enough demand.

So, thanks again. Much appreciated.

Can someone tell my why I suddenly have an urge to go after a vintage bike?
#14
Cuz they look great?

Wow all of those 'updated' vintage bikes are sweet.

Re. the exhaust - if the motor is RC45 then the exhaust must be too? As the motor dimensions between 1st/2nd Gen VFR750 and RC45 are quite different.

Nice.

I think he was referring to the bike in Post #1?

I LOVE that custom '86! It reminds me of my first VFR, only cooler. I have to admit that I like the 1170 Katana almost as much. I remember that bike and I thought that it looked like a missile.

SAHWEEET!!!!!

It looks like custom fab rearsets. That gives me ideas. I am already looking for some CBR pegs/sets (for linkage) to try to get my '86 to run GP shift since I'm running my other bikes that way now.

I was, I didn't look hard enough at what XS650RR had posted - thanks for clarifying. That is also a very trick bike XS! Does it have a race history that you know of?

I think race bikes with some pedigree are going to become extremely collectible in years to come.

It seems i have had it all my life but realy i started it in 1992 when i found some race parts for sale in the usa a man called brian o'shea bought a load of ex honda america parts including buba shoeberts factory vfr and now finaly with some spare time that i don't have i will try to finish it tooooooo many projects at the same time means nothing gets finished.
i gave all the race parts to a freind in austria to copy even the swingarm take a look it cost him a fortune to copy the parts. In pic 3 you can see my factory swingarm on the right and the copy on the left and the last pic is of all the parts he made a copy of the original parts are on the right.[image: Attached Image: Swingarm parts.jpeg]
