Last weekend I put new tires on the bike (well, used tires from a friend, who had tires with 80% of the tread still on), using my Clymer manual as my guide. When we were installing the rear wheel, the book says (pg. 439) "Tighten the rear wheel nuts to the torque specifications listed in Table 1"
The thing is, table one at the end of the chapter says:
Rear wheel nuts: 35(Nm) / 25 (ft.-lb.) (this is on page 471)
But if you look at table one at the beginning of the book it says:
Rear wheel nuts: 110 (Nm) / 80 (ft.-lb.) (this is on page IX)
We looked all over and didn't find any other information, so we figured that with 4 nuts at
25 ft.-lb each, was 100, which is close to 80. Yeah, I know, but it's the best we could figure.
We set the torque wrench to 25, tightened up the nuts and so far, so good.
Anyone know which table is right? Am I reading something wrong here?
