I'm a brand new owner of a not so brand new VFR750. :biggrin:
I was thinking of adding a main stand to my bike, but when I contacted the dealer for a price or the number og the parts, they told me it was out of production and the numbers were delited... :pissed:
Now I'm looking in the used parts marked, but the selection is rather limited.
Does any of you know whether a main stand for other models fits? -or the ordering number/ part's number?

The center stand was an option on the 3rd gen VFR's. They are very hard to come by and are worth quite a bit. I never have heard conclusively if the 4th gen will fit but I don't think it will since the exhaust system is different.
Congratulations on your purchase, the VFR is an amazing motorcycle. I love my '93.

The 4th gen center stand is differrent , it won't fit.
I was under the asumption that all European VFRs came with the center stand, is yours an import?

here, but I would check ebay or similar sites where they occasionally show up.
Here is one, but as VFRs are quite common in Norway, you should be able to find one closer to home. They're quit heavy, if you just want one for doing maintenance you can also get a paddock stand.
Some of the part numbers to look for:
50500-MY7-000
50505-MT4-000
That's correct, nothing other than the OEM part will fit (unless you manufactured the whole thing, of course!). Standard on non-US bikes. Optional equipment in the USA, so quite rare. They are heavy, because they are two pieces: a cast iron bracket that attaches to the engine, and a tubular steel stand, which often rusts. You will find one if you look long enough... Good luck.

Your best bet would be MC parts salvagers. Most big cities have at least one that you can contact. The 4th gen stand will not fit the 3rd gen bike because the 3rd gen has a "boombox" exhaust resonance(?) chamber that will get in the way. Ypou can also always get a pit stand, if what you're looking for mostly maintenance use and not parking on the street.
BTW, Centerstands are not as stable as sidestands, despite what some people may think. Narrower "footprint" actually makes them easier to tip over.
