Yeah, I saw that, too. Not sure why this video is labelled under "chassis" on the feelv4 site.

I hope they have test bikes available for the December MC show in Long Beach.
I hope to also test the new Aprilia V4.
I won't hold my breath. :goofy:

i have personlly heard an 09 r1 with a full titanium race exhaust. it was hair raising, to say the least! i can not wait to hear the first vfr1200, to have a full exhaust put on!

Why wait? Put a full race exhaust on your current VFR. It has the same firing as a 09 R1.

The 09 R1 has a crank whereby the cylinder firing sequence (of the inline 4) is staggered to replicate the firing sequence found in a 90 degree V4 - such as your VFR.

Gotta agree, mate. I find the crap about the R1 and its cross-plane crankshaft very amusing. All they have done is arranged the firing order so that it's exactly the same as the VFR, as you noted.

Wow, it's 2009 and the VFR has had that since 1994....guess Yamaha must really be ahead of the game, eh??

Actually, only the older and race models have the 360 degree crank of the true Big Bang engines.

Soooo, the V-Max never existed? Didn't it evolve into the RoadStar family of bikes before being reintroduced as the V-Max once again? Just sayin'.

I'm sure it'll surprise many including Honda fans. I'd like a pleasant surprise myself. Never really been a fan of I4's to begin with, though I do love my CBRXX. However, mine doesn't whine like the majority of I4's. Exhaust choice or just being an XX, I don't really care why. Now that the mist is starting to clear from the dream...........the anticipation, though cautiously tempered, is beginning.

Yeah but Yamaha did this firing order with an inline engine so they could move the engine around for setup. In a race application, the inline can be moved around more in the chassis compared to a V4. So in this sense, Yamaha found it advantageous to make an inline 4 act as a V4. .
