I've been having shifting issues on my bike, its extremely clunky. Today while riding I kept the throttle twisted and pulled in the clutch, the RPM did not change and I continued cruising. I kept on trying this, sometimes the RPM would shoot up as they should.
The bike is an 07 RWB purchased new in June 09, it has right under 4k miles on it. Any advice. I will preface it by saying that i bought it 1k miles from where I am now so taking it back to where I bought it is not an option. My local dealer in NJ is terrible and will likely try to charge me, if anyone knows of a good dealer that will help me with this warranty issue, or if anyone knows what might be wrong. please let me know. I am thinking the clutch fluid might need to be bled?
The revs going up would depend on how much throttle you are giving. At very light throttle you could pull in the clutch and the revs stay the same.
With only a few miles on the bike, I would hope the only thing that could be wrong is sticking clutch plates. Changed the oil lately or never?
You can put the bike on the C-STAND and test it out. The bike will run on the stand in gear if the Kickstand is up. Be careful.

kinda sounds like the clutch needs to be bled....if that doesn't work is it still under warranty?? call your shitty local dealer and see what they will do...if it's warrnty work they should want to do it, they'll get paid for it.....right??
how are you with bleeeding hydraulic lines??

Yes it is still under warranty. I've never bled a clutch but I have done lots of brakes. I might try and find a better dealer.
Bleeding the clutch is the same as bleeding brakes, one nipple down on the clutch slave. Give it a try.
I guess I will give that a shot before I take it to a dealer....is this a common problem? anything else I should try?

I bled the line. I haven't ridden it but it seems to be better. Looked like some air came out also.
still seems to shift like garbage....I think I am going to take it to the dealer. I also think I need a new front CCT its awfully noisy....haven't been super happy with this bike.
