I am a new memeber to this forum, but I am impressed with the good intel that you provide. I am the owner of www.gsxronly.com and I am working n a custom. I have a vfr front wheel (02) that has a 4 1/4 in hub (rotor mounting base to rotor mounting base) . There is a cbr wheel that I am in possesion of that has a 6 spoke 4 in inner hub design, The rotor pattern is not the same as the vfr or the cbr, just a bit off. I need another one of these honda front wheel with a 4in hub. Does anyone know what I have?

I need a 17in, 6 spoke, f3 style rim with a 4in hub where the rotors mount. Any luck? Thanks

First things first - can you post some pics of what you've got?

Here's a pic of a CBR600F2 wheel(fits 1990-1993 VFR w/ 1983-1985 VF750/700F or 90-93 VFR or F2 rotors):

Here's a 600F3 wheel(fits 1994-1997 VFR/900RR w/ VFR, F3 or 900RR rotors):

CBR600F3 = late model CBR900RR (17")

Early model CBR900RR (16") also fits 1994-1997 VFR(VFR, F3 or 900RR rotors):

The wheel I am using as a mock up for my custom looks like the late model f3, has a 4in hub and a DIFFERENT rotor bolt pattern than a vfr800 or cbr1100 xx rotor.
The wheel I need came of a custom 93 CBR900rr that had the 17in swap already done. This rim is what I need. Has the smaller 296(?) rotors that are perfect for the 93 900rr swap, but smaller than I need for my spec. The cbr1100xx rotors will not bolt directly due to a slightly different bolt pattern (both have small circle , not f2 style). It is currently mocked up, so it would be useless to take a pic. Looks like the late model f3 style.

On a steep learning curve here. I was unaware/unsure if the 900rr came with the 6 spoke 17in rim. I thought they were all 16in.
Set me straight on that please. The wheel I need looks like
this, but has a 4in wide hub, rotor to rotor, 17 in dia. and NOT a cbr1100xx bolt pattern, which is the same as a vfr800 pattern as well, based on the parts in my possesion. If I am wrong on anything, please advise.

The application is a 91 GSXR 750 fork set. I have the right wheel, I just need to know what it came off of to get a few more. The proper rotor location hole on the hub is 58mm in diameter. Wheel is 17in x 3.5in small diameter rotor bolt pattern (6) hole, 4in hub. rotor to rotor backside.

First pic is mock up . 6 piston calipers, cbr1100xx rotors, ? wheel , stock gsxr axle straight through oem honda bearing, working on spacers.
2nd pic 90mm is width of rotor mounting platform

3rd pic

on stock 93 cbr900rr front end.

HELP a brother out please.

Yes, the 900rr only (93-99) came with a 16in wheel. The latter 929/954 are 17 fronts.

I like to use the EBC catalog for cross referencing rotors and bike models:

You want a CBR600F3 or late model 900RR wheel. I am unsure of the transition year, but CBR900RR's came with both 16" and 17" wheels. Only the last 2-3 years of production had the 17" wheels, which are the same as the F3 wheel.

Hope that helps!!

As I stated above, if you want to use the newer VTEC front wheel, you will need to get CBR600F4 rotors(not F4i). The 98 and up VFRs share brake rotors with the CBR600F4.

I have been reading a great deal and did try to research the EBC catalogue when I honed in that the blackbird rotors had the diameter and proper off set for the rotor carriers.
Is the 98 F3 rim different than the 97 F3 rim? I know that the 97 rim has a 4 1/4 in hub. I have already verified that. It exists, I have one.
I have already done the rear, wedged in between a 95 GSXR 750 swingarm, in a 91 GSXR 750 frame. , I am in search of a slightly larger rotor that still uses the stock 98 900rr rear wheel mounting points, cbr1100xx possibly?
Here are some pics, excuse the mess this is one of 6 projects. In mock up stage.

As I said in PM, I don't know the hub sizes off the top of my head. In your first post you said the '02 VFR wheel has the 4.25" hub, and that the CBR wheel you have has the 4" hub. Based on the needs you described in your first post, you want a CBR600F3 or 98-99 CBR900RR wheel. (yes, I just looked that up; RR's went to 17" in '98)

Too much confusion on the cbr900 16 vs 17 intel. wikipedia said all 16's, but I tend to believe you. I know for a fact that the 1997 F3 wheel is NOT the same as what I have. The 97 has a 4 1/4 in hub, the one I have is clearly 4 in and a different rotor pattern. I really appreciate the help. I am going to pursue the intel on the 98 cbr6 wheel and the 98-99 900rr wheels. Thanks again.

You may well be right, I'm just going from memory on the 16-17" thing, from my time on a CBR forum.

Just checked the fiche on ronayers.com, they show 16" tire for all years of 900RR. Huh. Guess you're looking for the F3 wheel then...

Now, if it is an F3 rim, are the 97's and 98's different? I have read they were, but can not verify. Custom aint easy

www.ronayers.com parts fiche shows the same two part numbers for the 97 & 98 F3 wheel: 44650-MAL-G00ZD / 44650-MAL-G00ZC

I am going to assume that one part number is for the black wheel on the red/black model, and the other for the yellow wheel on the Smokin Joe's Edition.

What are the specs on the 4th gen VFR wheel and the VTR front wheel? :fing02:

Checking with Delkelvic in CO. Randy was aware of rotor bolt pattern difference but not hub width. On line now with him checking with engineering or going o pull a wheel. The wheel I need is Delkelvic part number PR 1060B, this is an F3 wheel that has a 4in hub width. Hope that helps anyone behind me. I will post the "recipe" When it is final. I have to get the rim and fab spacers. Thanks to all in this community.

99 vfr front rim hub is 4 1/4 in wide, with the same rotor bolt pattern as the cbr1100xx

I think Baileyrock is on the right track suggesting a VTR firestorm wheel could be vfr400 also?

Looking at the pic I bought some discs like that for a CBR600F4 wheel that didn't fit but where still 296mm

The galfer catalogue's useful to compare sizes..
