is our ignition the CDI type or the TCI type?

im wanting to know, if our ignition setup is capacitive discharge, or transistor charged.

the yamaha fzr600 coils are of a common failing type, and they are commonly replaced with a coil from a ford escort, which does NOT have a primary resistance of 3 ohms, but more like less than 1 ohm. now, apparently this swap causes no problems, and the bike usually runs better, even.

now, were i to assume that we have the same setup on our bikes, would i be able to run 4 coils off of our box, with resistances of less than an ohm?

a little more info, the coils i wanna use are .8 ohm per cyl, the coil pack used on the fzr is something like .6 ohm. i can only assume that the coils it came with are 3 ohm saturation style coils, not cdi.

it doesnt seem to me like what i wanna do is going to work without some kind of cdi module and a stator that has a high voltage coil in it.

i REALLY dont want to run my stock coils.
