Re-use grip heaters?

Can grip heaters be removed and re-installed w/o damaging them? I want to remove my helibars before selling my bike, and I'm worried the heaters won't come off w/o getting damaged.

I think you can do it, but it sure will take some patience. May just be more trouble than it's worth, unless you promised the heaters to the buyer... you can get a new set for $27... www.casporttouring.com

I think with a little time and careful effort they could be peeled off and re-used. A little acetone would surely help.

But for $27 what is your time worth.

Yes, they can, I've moved mine a couple times when I got new bars. Turn them on for a few minutes or use a heat gun to soften the glue and peel them off. Use new grip glue or something similar to attach them securely to the new bars.

What method did you use to remove the grips without damaging the heating elements?

I've tried and failed miserably.
I must admit though that I forgot to use heat gun. Or patience. :comp13: :computer-noworky:

I've re-used mine. Just take your time and peel carefully. I used 3m Super 77 spray glue to re-glue them on the new bars.
