VFR1200F ride report
ENGINE:
The engine is very smooth with some vibration around 5K RPM not more than any other V4 but noticeable with such a smooth engine. Power is super linear and very smooth. The power requires just the slightest twist of the throttle and to be honest I haven’t even opened it up all the way yet. In the upper RPM range the engine pulls hard and rockets you to speeds well above legal and high gear acceleration is almost as amazing having no trouble passing in 6th.
TRANSMISSION:
The shifts are very smooth not clicky like my other VFR or stiff like my magna. The clutch has good weight but is not overly tough to use in traffic. The slipper clutch performs well and eliminates downshifting hassles. The shaft drive works great some people hate it but from a guying owning 2 shafties and one chain. I can honestly say I don’t really see a difference on this bike except at very low speeds but I have nothing to say about it. A side note the gears seem very long but not unnaturally so.
SUSPENSION / ERGOS / BRAKES:
This is a heavy bike but only when you push it around as soon as you start moving it looses about 180 lbs and is amazingly light on the road I love it. The suspension is soft enough for comfort but stiff enough for precise handling and it has adjustable dampening and preload in the front and back. The seat is very firm and comfortable and I can stand flat footed because of its narrow nature even at 5’9”. The bars seem to be at a good distance and I look forward to longer journeys. The brakes are AMAZING so smooth and easy to modulate and would probably only require one finger but I always use four as good practice.
GAUGES / FIT AND FINISH:
The gauges are simple and functional I enjoy the ambient temp gauge and a CLOCK (sorry I am not used to one). There is also a gear indicator and various warning lights as expected. Te digital speedo and other gauges mesh well with an analog tach. The paint is the best I have seen on ANY motorcycle the red is deep and metal fake and the black is like a dark abyss. The fairing fits perfectly and everything looks amazing nothing cheap.
So I guess to finish YES this is a VFR and I love it worth every penny
