ok here is the deal fellas...... i picked up a complete 954/929 front end... the whole shooting match... forks triples brakes rim.... anyway i own a 2007 vfr800 just like some of ya'll have...

i want to swap the front ends .... will what i have work?? has it been done before?? *(i have googled till my fingers are bleeding and have seen a little here and there and mostly rc51 front end swaps) but i was hoping someone had done THIS particular swap and would/could share some wisdom with me....

appreciate the help...

929/954 steering stem won't work. It will hit the bracket that holds the oil cooler on (6th Gen). Been there - done that.

You have to have a gull wing shaped lower. SP-1 seems to be the preferred flavor.

Why? The RC51 front end is the preferred choice mostly because it fits without much modification. Since you don't have one of those I would fleabay your CBR components and concentrate on rebuilding your OEM fork with the most top shelf components you can afford. That alone will make a huge difference over stock.

With the SP1 lower the rest of the 954 front end will bolt up I believe.(?) The one issue may be fork length?

Yes, welcome and need some pics. :fing02:

Nice pics. You don't need the whole SP1 front end, just the lower triple tree. I'm running a SP1 lower triple with SP2 forks, wheel and 954 upper triple.

Check out the Woodcraft site. They have several different options with risers. I also looked at a pair of Apex clipon have adjustable height and angle. I am doing a front end swap on a 3rd gen and I am trying to make up my mind as well.

Look for 50mm HeliBars.
