akripovic leo vince two brothers
#2
I kind of liked the 2 Bros the best.
#4
I wonder if Staintune has one in the works...
Hey man, nice shot! 2 Bros put some effort into their vid. Sounds great, too! Dang, I'm destined to forever be taking off the muffler to change the tire...
#5
Of the 3, the 2 bros sounds the best. Definitely cheesier looking than the others, however. What's up with how the 1200 sounds? Kinda wimpy compared to the 6th gen wouldn't you say? Hopefully it's better in person.....

I dont know about you but I have been to a motogp race and it sounds just like a motogp bike to me! Especially the Akropovic sound.

Yea its not a strait pipe but the motor whips around and revs just like one. No longer does it sound like a stock car (like my old 5th gen) - to me the 6th gen sounded a bit muted compared to the 5th gen, but it had a more sedate growl to me (the 6th gen does). In stock form the 7th gen sounds even more sedate and it idles much higher, almost like a darned I-4 the way it idles but boy put a load on it and its just like a motogp bike! Open it up with a bigger sounding pipe and its got that Grand Prix sound to it just like it was on the motogp paddock.

I must admit the sound of the Vale system to me sounded best but then again it was the only video of the bike in motion the rest were idleing and reving sounds. I would have been nice to hear the bike pass by in motion on all of the videos, thats when the bike is in its element.

Out of the 3 the Akripovic has the highest gains in the Dyno traces, at least of the Dyno results they published. I am aware of the implications of comparing dyno traces from different Dynos in different conditions and in different locations. But when you compare a dyno trace from the slip on to the stock slipon traced together the Akripovic has the edge.

The 2 Bros have the best marketing scheme for sure but I would go Akrapovic in a heart beat. It looks better and I bet under load conditions will sound awesome. I always wanted to get an Akrapovic system for my old R6 but could never put that much money aside. They have always been on the higher end of the quality scale in my opinion. Posted Image

ordered the leo vince titanium slip on
$249 delivered to my house!
#9
I really like the DAM exhaust: For my money it'd probably be the Akrapovic. I wouldn't even use a 2bros exhaust as a frame slider.

Agree. Makes it hard to stay out of the throttle.

I bought the Arrow Race Tech titanium. Sounds deep at idle and through the middle and the pitch changes to a scream as rpm increases above 6k.

I got a great deal on a Leo Vince I could not pass up

#13
Was the last run without the db killer?
Or does it even come with that option...
The first run with the Leo sounded pretty quiet.

Did you actually rev the engine just before shutting down?

heh, well I do see a lot of Harley riders doing that. Upon questioning them as to why they usually say "it leaves extra fuel in the cylinders to make it easier to start next time."
Always a hoot. I was surprised to see a VFR rider do it.

I dont do that alot, just when I am making a video to demonstrate the sound of the slipon pipe for the membership. I know all about extra fuel in the engine leaking past the rings by reving then shutting off the motor - in the context of what the video was for it served a purpose. I don't know why you comment so many negative things, all the time?
#19
Does the Leo Vince come with an db killer insert?
Do you remove the flapper cable with the slip-on?
Thanks

Leo Vince do have a db killer insert yes. I did not have it installed, there is no throttle valve either so I removed the cable.

Thanks Miguel!
Mine was shipped today

Received my Vince evo Ti can today and installed it! What a nice product, right down to the way it is packaged.

The Fit is first rate and the finish is fantastic!! It sounds a bit muted with the baffle in, however I will be taking it out
tomorrow so...

I wouldnt hesitate to buy one of these cans at full boat! Thats how much I like it. You guys that ordered these are in for a
real treat.... enjoy it.
#23
Glad to hear you like it. I have a dyno chart for the Leo; adds around 9hp on top, around 5hp at 6000rpm
#24
Newenough is having a sale on 2Bro's exhaust. Raw material prices have already gone up but they're running the sale till Feb 1 and will honor backorder sales.
#25
Just installed the Leo Vince w/o the db killer. Sounds good, maybe ride tomorrow and see if it runs better. Nice quality parts. Maybe 7 pounds lighter than stock; going to weigh the stock muffler and verify what the manual said it weighed.

I have the akrapovic installed. Yes it will run smoother from the low revs. Especially around the 3000 rpm mark. But the 1 st and 2nd gear restriction removal mod will make a much greater impact.

Has anyone tried the Scorpion can? There dont seem to be any clips on youtube. Would be interested to know how this can sounds and also if it helps with the low end revs issue at all.

From the youtube clips I have seen so far I like the sound of the DAM exhaust

I went with the Two Brothers and love the sound now after about 5k miles next time I'm out in the garage messing around I will make a video but I'll say this that mine are a lot louder than the Two Brothers promo video. I tried to order the DAMM but they never did respond to my emails so I gave up and I'm very happy.

Just installed my carbon fiber LeoVince can this morning. Pretty straight forward install. It's a lot lighter (I think to the tune of 8 lbs. if I remember correctly). With the quiet insert, it's just a little louder than stock but deeper with more rumble. I'm going to remove the insert in a bit and take a ride with it out. As I age, I tend to like quieter motorcycles, so I may not like it out. I don't mind the looks of the stock exhaust, however, I like it better the carbon cover one of our members offers. If I decide the LeoVince is not worth it, I may sell it here and get the carbon cover. I'll let you know. Ride safe.

Well, much to my surprise, I like the quiet insert removed.  Sounds like a motorcycle as my father-in-law put it.  However, when I put the luggage back on, it hits the bottom of the right bag.  I loosened it up and messed with it for an hour.  Right now, I have about a 1/4 in clearance, but, I can tap it and make it touch.  I'm kind of frustrated with that.  I may pull the can back off and hack saw a half inch of the end of the pipe that fits into the can.  Overall, good mod though.

since it has 2 cat converters ahead of the slip on, you don't need the quiet insert.

Mounted up the LeoVince Factory-R... I love it! Attached Images

Here is my set up.  It sounds really good to me, no restrictions and not really as loud as you might expect.  I also have a PCV with a switch mounted near the left hand where I can switch between fuel maps.  And also have another switch in the same area where I can remove the 1st and 2nd gear restriction.  On - off throttle in the twisties is so much better with the PCV and if you really want to get a huge drive in 1st and 2nd the de-restrict is essential.[image: IMG_2977.JPG]
