My bags arrived 4 days! wow

I ordered the top bag and the two panniers from Davids Spares in the UK and they showed up in my garage 4 days later! $1700 bucks or so later! not cheap but I used the sale of the old givi's and the insurance money from the old girl for them. Now I am looking at bag liners, even those are expensive. Honda stuff is not cheap on this bike not at all! But for the price I got the bike for and what I would have paid to get it here at my local dealer its as if they would have added them in! But they didnt so I had to go overseas - not so sure the set is the best price either. After using givis and using softbags this last few months Hard bags are the way to go. Keying the tumbers in the lock sets they provide only took 20 minutes too once I got the sequence figured out and was able to get those tiny springs and tumbers into the barrel. Rather easy really just tiny parts is all.

Thats cool. How are they when going on and off? I dont think I ever really grasped the mounting on these new bags.

Got a pic of the bike with all the bags mounted?

My Dutch brochure has has the bags listed for 962 euros ($ 1,263.39 ) and the top box at 462 euros with no mounts, 805 euros complete (606.74 and 1,057.20).

The liners are 140 euros for the bags and 91 for the top box (183.86 and 119.510)

Topcase AND saddlebags?? You planning some extra long trips??

I think once you have all three you'll never go back. Especially with the hard bags.

I bought the trunk only because side bags take away from lane splitting which is the norm here and I can't live without.
My trunk cost me $490.00 and listed for $650. The trunk liner cost me over $100.00 and that blew my mind because they should have included it with the trunk.

Still cheaper then what you can buy them for in the states if there available yet and you get them quicker.

Looks great ....do you have a profile and a lane splitting rear ender shot? You could probably make it to San Diego too? :laughing6-hehe:

I want the top case for day trips, and will try the whole set for this Troudale pnw trip next week, if I can make it with just the panniers for long trips then I will go with just those. They dont seem to hold as much as my givi's the top case is shallow but has a deep top. I like the pad they provided for it.

When I went on the DCT test ride they had one of the demo bikes all decked out with the available HONDA accessories. The panniers are definitely smaller than the VTEC's, as well as the top case...

The top box barely fit my helmet in it, the right side pannier wouldn't. The left side pannier only did after I played tetris with the helmet to squeeze it in. The liners are actually cut to fit the ENTIRE inside of the panniers though as opposed to the poor excuse for liners they had for the 6th gen. The smaller capacity does mean a overall smaller width for those wondering about lane splitting. Don't you guys watch the moto cops anyhow? They lane split on a bagged hog!

I wonder if GIVI will be coming out with a version for the 1200 that would be more affordable than the OEM stuff?

Honda of America invited me to go to a honda junket in California for the vfr1200, I could not go so I asked Tod to go in my place. Thats where he got all those pictures

I am going to the dealer today to actually pay for my trunk liner and will use the super generous $10.00 coupon NoHo Honda sent me in the mail last week that is only good for one month.
It's my birthday and I am going to try and weasel them out of something.

Yea I work nights and well we have a cafeteria but it sucks - not much selection and the wait in line is horrible. I take alot of fruit, 3cans of soda or a bottle of juice, water, and snacks for the other breaks. I bring magazines and books in it too for something to read, asprin, first aid, vitamins. 12 hrs is a long shift!

"Hear, hear!" on that one. No reason to queue up with the cages, in California. I have only a trunk on my 6th-gen for that specific reason. I guess the new VFR can't split with side bags, either. Or "panniers" if you like. :smile:

The liners are advertised as being "waterproof", which begs the question:

Do the panniers and top box, themselves, appear to be as waterproof as Givi's? (e.g., do they have any type of rubber weatherstripping where the top half of the shell meets the bottom half?

I bet you could ....I split with my Wing ok..

I do split lanes with my CBX no problem and the more I think about it the more the idea of the side bags appeal to me.

I found out that my trunk liner is on backorder until November but, it may come in before that.
