Ive had hundreds of thousands of miles on various bikes using Yuasas without failure.Didnt want to get a cheap battery that I would have to replace every year(even with a warranty,my time has a dollar value going back and forth to the store to return)or.some small shop made hi-spec unit that is unproven by time and many customers.Original batt lasted 8 years so I believe that's a good value :fing02:
If anyone has a better current price,keep in mind they've gone up a lot in the last six months,please post up.

I knew about the guy on Ebay BR but he didn't have a 14.I had also seen people had problems with the Wally world batts.But good to know if your on the road and needed one fast. I just decided to go with sure thing.Yuasa label from an authorized dealer.
I was wondering if anybody had a better price in a labeled/guaranteed YTZ-14 .Yes $60(than a 12,i'll assume 14 would be more) more but a product I have a lot of experience with and 0% failure rate.

I bought a yusua Ytz14z, the st1300 battery, its the battery the vfr should have came with, i paid about 120 shipped couple year ago, but its an outstanding battery

Comes with a year or 2 warranty..since your nae is in the computer with the sale date..
If your stuck 10 states from home like I was.. FREE exchange of a battery!! That comes with a ANOTHER year or 2 !!!

Careful with Yuasa, I discovered the hard way they only have a 6 month 100% replacement warranty. I bought its replacement from Batteries Plus locally for $70 and it has a 1yr full replacement and three years pro rate.

For as much as they cost that warranty is pitiful.

I'll go Yusa again ST1300 , it cant be beat performance wise, on pure output. You can sacrifice if you want, doesnt matter to me, I'm a high milege runner and know what works , when I come across the best , I state it as so.

Was it a stock battery, I know mine was not a yuasa but a Fukarama, but I suppose anything can detiorate or fail. my original battery got weak at 2 year old, it also had 42,000 mile. The st1300 yuasa now has 37,000 mile(still solid). Most car battery down here in south Texas, never see more than 4 or 5 years cause of the heat.

Realistically even my fukarama began failing at 2 year, it saw plenty of action, so a battery every 2 or 3 years, I consider normal on a motorcycle, I guarantee they are getting weaker in that time frame compared to orginal condition. The stock vfr battery, was barely adaquate to begin with.

I dont have all these elctrical issues everyone seems to have , I did have a failed stator at 56,000 mile, and it totally drained my st battery, but my battery tender plus revived it with no harm, that was about 22,000 mile ago.

From a CCA and reserve power , the st1300 is a drect fit replacement preseasled and no mess.

Right up my alley, I'll get another in a year or 2 if I still have the vfr

My original '99 battery went over 5 years. The 2 Yuasa YTZ14 replacements lasted at most 18 months each iirc. I went to a Walmart AGM battery a year ago and so far so good, half the price though.

My factory battery lasted almost 5 and its replacement barely made it 14 months before croaking. I know the replacement was a Yuasa but not sure about the factory. I kept both on a BT most of there life.

my st1300 yuasa is 2 years old, and I've been very satisfied, I know I can get a cheaper one, its just not an item I have alot of issue with

Honda OEM GS Yuasa YTZ14S UKP50 shipped (USD78) from Honda of Bournemouth (UK). I couldn't believe it, either, but after getting two of them, I am starting to!

My Valkyrie is still running the factory battery - bought it new summer of 2000. (amazing) - -I just recently jetisoned an Autozone battery from the VFR 5th gen, It lasted a whole 19 months. Went crazy and bought the Lithuim A123 battery - 160 bucks. - Guess I'm the VFRD test mule for this one. I like the thing. :fing02:

To answer the question in the initial post, that seems like a decent price to me. I think I paid about that a couple years ago for my YTZ14 from an online store. Can't remember which store, but it was one that specializes in batteries.

I have bought a battery for my 600rr here before. Had it for over a year and never put it on a BT. Seems like really good prices.
