So I'm window shopping for a KR or even a KF that is restorable and it'd be one thing if there were some but with ridiculous prices but I can't seem to find any for sale. Strange? Or is it just the season. I'm not in any hurry but I'd feel better if there were a couple on ebay or craigslist.
I'm mainly searching around on the East Coast so maybe that's the issue. If anyone has a bead on one let me know.

There was that one for sale in NJ with all the Dougherty upgrades for $2200 obo. I think it was Northern NJ.

Went and looked a R today. Little far from you though.
Yeah, I got a few PM's here but man, It's hard to justify shipping a bike across country when you yourself aren't in the country!! Slim pickens. I'm patient though.
I've been considering selling one of my 1000f's. I put it on CL last fall to test the waters but didn't get much. Maybe the spring will be better. It seems like it's a tough time for buyers and sellers right now.

Theres a nice 1000R and 1000F for sale in the Los Angeles craigstlist, the R may be a little too (8 grand!) nice! I can check the F out for you if you're interested in it, its only about 10-15 minutes from my house.
Well, thanks to a very understanding and helpful wife and vfrcapn with his detailed build and assistance I've decided to go ahead and buy his bike. :bliss:
I'm tellin ya, a forum like this makes it a lot easier to buy something on the other side of the country without having 1000 what if's rolling through your head. Now I only have 250 what if's

If you are buying vfrcapn's bike you are getting a good one. That rebuild was one of the reasons I started mine. Good luck and keep us informed!

I hope it lives up to your expectations and serves you well!
Thanks, now if the damn shipping would hurry up!!! Nah, I don't want to rush. Besides, I need to figure out how I'm going to ride the bike and spend time with the wife and kids when I come home on leave in April. Me thinks there will be a lot of early mornings with me MIA. I'll leave a sticky saying "Be home by lunch" :laughing6-hehe:
