hello , my name is Philippe , 52 years ago , i have VF 1000 R since 10 years

I found listed since November, but expected to have modified my end before posting

translation is from google translate, it's not terrible, but my English is too bad ,so be indulgent

for quite some time, I had the idea of changing my wheels on grandma to be able to adapt to rubber tires modern, I know, purists will still be pain but me, as long as I keep in mind VF, that's enough

Note: I am able to manage everything back home if appropriate.

home

Front: 120/80/16, there are almost as diagonal (2.5 inch rim)

Rear: 140/80/17, not much choice and 150/70/17, but the tire of choice is a little pinched (3.5 inch rim)

-Over from the TLR with R1 radial brakes and 19-radial Nissin 2 piston and TM 14 of Grandma, it does not too much, so I bought a PR of 17.5 Nissin radial ZX 10 R and will take the opportunity to install (I did not, back to my MC SVN, prob because the MC's ZX) I thought I could change the brackets in favor of more modern (4 pistons) but it has not seem playable with the fork and the TRAC system of shit

After several research and especially read the topics on the site VFRD (see below)

http://www.vf1000r.f...hp?topic=5171.0

I decide to go ahead and enjoy the off season to make my annual review and change my rims

I also enjoy to change my rear shock profile of a VFR 800 of 2003 occasions. After installation, I must say that the work being static amorto the saddle, suspension and slightly firmer than the original but much more smooth, short I am satisfied, I will see use on the road but a priori. ... happy.

I am especially inspired this topic where we see what the end result can give

So, I chose to wear on rims CBR 600 F2 (91-95)

VA: 3.5 inches: classic tire: 120/70/17, you can find anything
AR: 4.5 inches: 160/60/17 tire, and ...

I saw that some took the CBR F 3 (5-inch rear wheel), and even at 900 CBR, see url above topic (rim 5.5) but the 180 goes too just to my liking in the soundtrack of origin

Changes required:

Building on this:

http://www.daugherty.../v4section.html # wheelswap

Front wheel: the axis of the CBR is 20 mm, that of the VF 1000 R 15 mm, more because of the dismantling "racing" not at all conventional obligation to keep the axis of VF as the centering and wheel positioning are packaged. washer drive VF counter to change the wheel to enter the CBR

Bearing change (fortunately, the diameters of the outer cages are the same on both wheels)

Machining of making a reduced speed of 7 mm (3.5 inch rim, it takes more space)

Machining a spacer of 10 mm for the right side for the nut-bearing does not fit into the joint

Machining of 5 mm from the nut-bearing (I could have put less in fact) but it allows me to more easily control the centering of the wheel

The only change is irreversible I authorize, which oblige me to have a brace on the right in if I return to the original wheel.

Rear wheel: VF axes and CBR are the same diameter, so I put the CBR

Probs:

The ring gear is not the same thing, and I can keep the support bracket or the back of VF (vented disc) which amends and creating a tab for mounting bracket
Moreover, must center the wheel and keep the alignment of the chain.

Changes bearings (buying secondhand wheels (history?) And epoxy under the warrant)

Machining of a spacer (left) of 14 mm to 12.5 mm reduced

Machining a spacer (right) 19 mm

Creating a tab for supporting bracket

Me 3 choices are offered to the views of my research

I chose it because easy to do (the soundtrack is hollow) and aesthetic

shock of the VFR is 315 mm, that of the VF of 400 mm, or 2 feet to accommodate

from what I read, no need to change the setting of the spring, which proves true, static

work:

machining of parts was done by a colleague and chest by my son who has a small tower and a mill, I'm just the caliper support bracket.

epoxy coated white in Bobigny (sanding paint +)

Changes bearings (watch those AV are 1 mm wide (to be taken into account for the spacers) by the father of my son.

Looks very nice. The F2 wheels are a big improvement over stock. You should be proud. :fing02:

I wish I could speak French, I looked around the Vf1000R site you linked but didn't understand a word. Looks like a good community of V4 lovers over there.
