Well it looks like I may actually return to the saddle in the upcoming months and want to get things lined up. I'm going to have my back surgery(s) done this coming Tuesday and the neurosurgeon promises me I should be riding by summer.
Long story made short, the VFR hasn't been ran in nearly 2 years. Do I need to pull the fuel injectors out and send them out for cleaning (once I get back on my feet)? Seems like someone had made a post on here a while back about pulling their injectors and having them cleaned. New clean gas when the time gets here of course.

Get a can of Sea-Foam and add it to new gas and run the bike. Do not pull the injectors and take a look at them unless you just want to do it. Ride not wrench ,but I am a hillbilly.
My GTS sat for a couple years. All I did was add fresh gas, and a bottle of Techron FI cleaner. No problems that I could tell. I wouldn't worry about having them professionally cleaned unless you have obvious fueling related problems.

+1 for the Techron. I try to run some through the bike once a year. Expensive but it seems to work. My bike sits a lot during the winters here in Idaho.
Fresh gas and a bottle of good fuel system cleaner is all that is needed.. Techron and Seafoam are good choices. Also BG-44K is a good product, but a bit pricey.
Glad to know you are doing better. Back problems can really limit a persons ability to do certain things in life. Hope you are 100% and have no post surgery issues.

Did you add Sta-Bil or some other kind of fuel treatment fluid to your tank before you stored your bike? If so, I hope you also stirred it up in the tank a bit and ran the bike to get the treated fuel through the injectors, etc.
I'm with the others. All you should really need is an injector cleaner and a fresh tank of fuel. I add SeaFoam to a fresh full tank every other oil change. I don't know how much difference it really makes, but it can't hurt! :wink:
