I've a VTR SP1 (RC51) wheel coming and want to swap bearings for 25mm I.D CBR bearings and wonder if the bearing spacIng from a RC51 wheel is exactly the same as that of a CBR wheel. If it is that means I can use the CBR spacer/collar that sits between the bearing inner races (#6 in the drawing below) and saves me from having to have a custom spacer made.
The width is the same *but* (there's always a "but"!), because the collar is also larger in diameter, you will need to increase the ID of the aligning rib in the middle of the wheel, or the collar will not pass through. Once you get the wheel in hand and et he bearings out you'll see what I'm talking about. It's not a big deal if you have a Dremel. Just take off a little at a time until the collar passes through.
