Hello to all. This is my first post at VFRD. So here's a photograph of my bike in its current state. The tail is just propped up.

Many thanks to Fotomoto, Hobie1dog and others on the forum. The amount of information and knowledge on here is immense.
I started this project after seeing so many detailled write ups of modifications with loads of pictures.
I'm (with alot of help from a mate) currently in the process of putting CBR600RR Race body work on her with a Triumph Daytona 675 underseat exhaust (A touch of British class). Along with a few other bits and bobs. (929 shock, painted engine cases, Vapour gauge...)

I've got the front fairing on (Fotomoto thread), along with a couple of projector headlights under the nose (Hobie1dog thread).

Can't seem to rotate this photo???

Before we start on the rear I want to install a CBR929 shock (929 Shock install thread).
Has anyone who's done this modification had any problems with the shock twisting between the spacer they've made and the upper bracket?
I'm going to put HyperPro springs in the forks. Is it worth putting a HyperPro spring on the 929 shock?

Thanks

   for posting up!

Good that you are getting rid of the oem muffler becauase that thing is sooooo silent.....
OEM panels are getting harder to find by the day, you'll have no probs flogging them..

Next you'll want an USD   :goofy:

that thing is sooooo silent..... Dam straight. I couldn't resist starting her up without a silencer on. Just awesome. Bit too loud though. I couldn't hear the gear driven cam whine.

I'd love the look of USD and Radial Brakes. But has anyone sorted the Rake increase? Without getting expensive aftermarket Triples.

Depends what you mean by expensive?  I have learned that once you start doing a USD for conversion it spirals into a bigger project if you really start to pursue a correct set up and by the time your done those expensive triples were not that expensive.

I believe you mean trail?

I used 2000 R1 forks, 929 triples and a ridde height adjustable shock with 10mm added and after some tweaking I am really close and I should be right on the money soon.  In my experience, when you imrove one area, you say, "but to get the most out of these forks I need to do the rear shock," then you say "in order to get the most of the time and the money I put into forks and a shock, I need to work on the riding position", then your rebuilding a subframe and new exahust because nothing fits anymore...  and then... "and then"... "and then" all this to get the measurments back to where Honda set them.

If this is more than you want to deal with, there are some right side up conversions (CBR, VTR) that would offer fine performance and better brakes.  In hind sight, I would have given this more thought and probably still done an USD conversion.

Nice work so far but something tells me your just starting down the dark side.....  hehehehehehe :fing02:
