Slow progress on my '86 VF1000R due to workload and other projects, carbs are in (and out and in again) bike finally purrs like a kitten but now I wonder if Valve adjustment is needed?
More trips to Honda dealer for small items that seem to be piling up in a hefty bill, still some slow progress.
Big ticket items like tires, sprockets and chain are put off til the motor runs well and brakes are working.
So I'm saving money for important things and then I see this add on CL: VF1000R $700!! Forget the tires, my bike needs a brother, must rescue it before some teen decides to make it a street fighter/chopper/caffe and than just scraps it.
So here its, not till I parked them side by side I realized the difference, they are brothers, but not twins.

The one I just picked up ('85) needs plenty of work, probably not gonna go anything with it till next winter. For now the plan is to finish the '86 I'm already working on using the better parts of both bikes, get it on the road and see if I like it. This is a #10 (not counting vintage scooters) in the stable and 5th on the list of bikes that need more than just carbs cleaned to be roadworthy. Too many projects...
