6th Gen - DanMoto Side Mount Can

After considering it for quite some time, I decided to move to a side mount can on my '05.  I really dig the look and the sound is nothing short of outstanding but the obvious issue is the gaping hole left behind by removing the underseat cans.  I'm considering a couple of options for cleaning up the rear ranging from painting everything black to a custom undertail, to replacing the entire subframe and bodywork.

So, I decided to bounce the question off the veterans and see what you all thought for potential solutions.  Any and all feedback is welcome and greatly appreciated.

I'll get a more direct pic of the rear as soon as I can, but for now, here's a reference shot.

Theres a few guys going to a single exit now, but I dont think anyone has come up with a way of filling the void. Heres a thread of guys talking about it, but nothing came of it:
