5th Gen Exhaust on a 6th Gen

I recently purchased a 5th Gen catless exhaust for my 6th gen. Got a few questions.

Question 1. In the below photo, will I be able to reuse the clamp on my 6th gen pipes to resecure the muffler or will I have to buy a new one? Also, is that oring on the exhaust now reuseable?

Question 2. Will I be able to reuse the clamps to secure the two rear pipes or will I have to buy new ones?

Question 3. Will the gaskets for a 6th gen fit into the slots that mount to the engine or will i hvae to get 5th gen gaskets?

Is their any other type of sealant you recommend or anything else to purchase / have on hand incase soemthing goes a stray?

I have a 5th gen - but chances are the parts are the same. I would go to RonAyers and look around the fische to get a good idea. And then evaluate the condition of the parts I have on hand. New gaskets are def a good idea, I would probly do the clamps too if they look marginal..

You could check the fit up of the slip on with the existing gasket you have.

if this is a catless header, more than likely its got 43mm primaries vs your 6thgen 's 41mm primaries. you should replace all the hardware anyways while your swapping the header out. as you know this job is a bitch and you dont want to have to do it again due to an exhaust leak... most of those gaskets are one time use onlys. i would spend the couple bucks while your there to avoid possible future aggravation. only of my primary clamps snapped while i was putting on my motad...

All the hardware is different. I just got back from Honda and I took the exhaust with me. The crush washers on the 6th Gens are larger than those on the 5th Gen and needed replaced. The clamps and gaskets as well were different. So I ordered all new hardware and gaskets.

You could use stainless steel band clamps on the exhaust instead of the Honda pieces.

It's a bolt up deal, all you need are 4 new exhaust gaskets where the pipes bolt to the cyl. heads(which are all the same size) and the gasket does Not fit into the flange(one of your questions) it fits in  the head and the outer lip of the flange seals against it..

As mentioned you'll need clamps for the two rear downpipe connections and the vtec or 00-up 800's won't work(41 vs 43mm).
The only thing this set-up lacks for the 6th gen is a Tab for the center stand to rest against when in the up position.

Hey Kev, I just made all that up!   :laughing6-hehe:

Really it's straight forward, I like to loosely have it all hooked up to front and rear cly's with loose nuts then place a floor jack under the collector and just it up under the bike and into the rear down pipes a little before tightening the exhaust stud nuts fully.   :fing02:

Be careful with the copper exhaust gaskets.  They're very delicate and can be damaged easily when trying to muscle the front header pipes in place.

Yeah Dutch i actually got an extra set of gaskets in case I screw something up. Better safe than sorry. They only had one set on hand so I just ordered an extra set with the clamps and gaskets.
