I'd like to get at the exhaust header connection behind the right pedal assembly / heat shield.

The manual suggest I only need to remove the swing axle nut, but what about the allen head bolts? the bottom one seems to turn without any sign of coming out....hope thats not the case...

any tips from someone thats been in there  before?

ALSO.

wondering if the header has been 'shoved' up into the rear collectors, which might explain why my center stand rides high / my exhaust seems close to the dog bone and so on...

is there much adjustment in the way these 2 pipes fit inside the header?

I replaced the peg/brake pedal mount on viffergyrl's '98 due to a crash a couple years ago. IIRC the only thing holding the bracket on is the swingarm nut. The allen head bolts help to align it, but don't actually hold it on.
