Was able to score a ZG sport tour screen for the 5th gen for $75 with free shipping. Those Canadian guys are nice. It's RED too!
Couple of minor issues:
1) first tabs on both sides were "non co-planar" - didn't line up for $@##!
2) second tabs on right side were non co-linear. Second tab on left side popped off quickly.
A little dremel work, and they slid in OK. I have a hairline crack where the second tab was, but, live and learn. Being an engineer I should have just got out the tools anyway, but I was thinking "ZG has this awesome rep...". Oh well, in the Navy they used to say "if it jams, force it. If it breaks, it needed to be fixed anyway".
Just some short trips around town tonight, but there is a noticeable difference in air flow. My helmet must be in cleaner air, as I can feel the top vents on the Arai working in my normal seating position now.
There is still one left on ebay if anybody is interested. I think they look good, and my wife does too. She is 24 years my junior, so we don't always agree on style stuff, so that's a win. Not Charlie Sheen level, but I will take it! #Winning!

I think it looks awesome. And as I said before, there is some cleaner air. It's not quieter in the helmet, but you don't realize the buffeting your head takes (buffeting...head..parrot head?) until its not there anymore.
This upgrade, along witht he recent $38 Buell pegs made a big difference!

This is my wife 2 years ago when we bought her Rebel. She's moved up to an 85 GPz550 now.
I had issues getting my ZG tour shield on as well. I actually went with a Givi touring shield. It's not perfect, but I like to ride in colder months and the Givi seems to give me much better wind protection. When I tuck, I am in a pocket of still air ...NICE!!! I have a used DB and Tour shield if anyone is interested...both smoke.
Capn, I lucked out in *many* ways when I married my wife! She had the NBA playoffs on TV when I got home from work last night...she's a good athlete, into football, too. Loves baseball. Loves to ride, and smart, too (can't figure how she ended up with me, but that's a different conversation!). And she wants to do track days when we finish school! I was in the restaurant business, so I do most of the cooking - I was a chef for a long time. This means she doesn't cook much, but hey, after the list of pros...and she likes beer! More than wine. Not to mention, she bought the 98 VFR for me.
I am a *very* lucky man.
Stil lovin the ZG shield for commuting. That plus the Buell pegs makes a big difference. Scored a wing rack from a member in the classifieds, and that should go on today- short 3.5 hour trip to Baton Rouge tomorrow!
Capn, At lunch I noticed my light flaring on acceleration (reflection seemed funny). Got home to check the voltage - bad battery. Bought a new one, set it to charge and back to work. No worries. My wife then had her first verticality issue on a motorcycle, just before quitting time - I left early! SHe's fine, just a few scrapes and kinda achy...that adrenaline rush will get you! The bikes OK, too. Nothing too bad. But...the VFR with fresh battery was still showing low voltage while running. Unfortunately, I have resistance between ground and my stator wires. Same resistance to ground as between each leg...hello, Rick's?
I will not be commuting til later in the week! So the trip was in the car...sadness.
