Removing throttle slack?

My Vfr seems to have some play in the grip before it actually feels like its opening the throttle its just like free play before you get to the springs that pull the throttle shut. Is there any way to take this out? Theres quite a bit of play on mine.

Yes, the cable adjusters are behind the left side middle fairing.

I adjusted it up on grip after watching a YouTube video seems to have worked.

I have found it best to set the adjuster on the handlebar in the middle, tighten up the carb one, and check slack when at full lock left and right. Slack usually tightens up full left for me. It is frustrating because there is a lot of slack when pointing straight forward

Yes, I had the adjuster mixed up with the slack adjuster for the petcock. Those are behind the left fairing (not on US spec bikes).
