5th Generation Windscreens

Has anyone ordered and used the windscreens out of Hong Kong that are on E-Bay? I don't feel like spending $100 for a zero gravity and was wondering about the quality, fit and finsih of these.

Don't think it would be a bad choice BUT I noticed that many are producing them W/O the four hook type tabs on the nose that hook into the upper fairing. I wouldn't want one made that way.

To be honest i dont know how the 5th gen windscreens are from China, but the 6th Gen windscreen I ordered last year was garbage. Just like the fairings you hear about, nothing lined up right. I bought a zero gravity windscreen from the classifieds here and love it. My advice to you is don't waste your time (3-4 weeks to get it in the mail) or your money. $100 is worth getting it sooner and better quality.

I've used Chinese screens on my CBR. If you don't really care about having it look or fit right and just need something to get the job done, Chinese screens will work. But if you want it to look good and fit well, buy oem or from a good aftermarket manufacturer.

I have only had the DCDB (look it up) on my bike and I love them. The absence of the little finger tabs hasnt come up in almost 50,000 miles, so I dont worry about it.

I used to have a Chinese one on my 2000, before I knew much about them. ( don't remember which one ). Mine was ok, but I just ordered a Zero Gravity Double Bubble from Bike Bandit. In my case, I get free ground shipping and 10 % off, so it was around $75 total. I have read nothing but good things about the brand, and for that price, it was worth it to me to pay the extra and find out first hand. Ride safe, Dave

BR nailed it. I have a Chinese fairing on my 5th gen and it does not have the front tabs. The fit is pretty terrible, and is uneven when viewing from the front. However, it is only like $20-$30 if I remember correctly, so you get what you pay for.

I highly recommend the factory seconds that Zero Gravity sells on Ebay. I have had one on my 5th gen for years and it's perfect for me. By far one of the best mods I have done. It was fairly inexpensive, too.
