Performance Drop From Seperating Exhaust 3Rd Gen

I'd love to have an under tail exhaust on my third gen.  Maybe something like on this Duc http://raresportbike...ti-desmosedici/ , maybe something more traditional.

I'll probably start with something like this Delkevic DD header and downtube http://www.ebay.com/...691dba2&vxp=mtr

My question is:  If I need to cut of the collector box, what performance drop can I expect from running a 4 to 2 exhaust?

Not entirely sure with that one. I've seen other custom systems where the front go together to a muffler on the side, and the rear go to an undertail pipe, so the lengths are about the same. Looking at the Delk system, seems like it is paired together front+back, front+back. But that's right before the collector, so it might not make that much of a difference.

Any idea how you are going to modify your tail to run a twin undertail system? I remember one or two people using a CBR600 muffler as an undertail system with a chunk of mods. I don't think the stock tail allows enough room to just run pipes there without interfering with the wheel.

That could be a cool idea, asymetrical exhausts like the smokers were.  I'll take a look at space tomorrow.  I   have fantasies of a NR influenced bodywork, but then I have a lot of fantasies.

Maybe an early exit exhaust down low like the Ninja 650.  I just want to get ride of the the gigantic coffee can that obstructs the view of the SSA.

Under the tail is so sexy though. . .

I like what you're thinking! I bought this collector to replace the rusted out stock collector on my '91. It's MUCH lighter than stock and the build quality is decent. You might get good results by buying this and having a shop (or you) ditch the collector and fab a right side high mount.
