I Only Had To Buy Some Fork Oil...

Couple of weeks ago I decided to replace the oil on my forks (I had put new valves and springs from Jamie Daugherty only a few months ago but wasn't 100% happy with the oil I used) so went to the shop to buy some and saw a big sing advertising a special on spray paint cans "4 cans for $10(AUD)" so I thought I'd buy some and paint the fork legs matte black while I was taking them apart as they were showing pretty bad signs of corrosion (not unusual living in coastal towns).

Then one thing led to another, started by testing some of the paint on the cowling and after two weeks of sanding, filling, sanding some more, priming, spraying and making a mess of the garage I ended up with a matte black 6th gen.

I really was tired of the dark blue and it had some pretty bad scratches on it so I thought I had nothing to lose and I must say I'm quite happy with the results. While it's not perfect (I wouldn't expect it to be with spray cans)it's looks really good and I can touch it up anythiome I want (one of the advantages of using matte paint).

I have ordered some decals to liven it up a bit.

Thank you all for your comments.

It looks better in the photos than in real life (specially up close) but the overall look is great.

Sure do, I posted a thread about it a few months back, the post with the audio clip is here: http://www.vfrdiscus...e-5#entry864077

Yeah, somehow I found time in between coats to change the forks' oil (now I have to adjust the SAG again). Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2

If your ever around Timmy, you need to watch your back. You might be in for a "Good game!"

you should pait the radiators black too.  i painted mine in place, just masked everything around them off, nice accent touch if you ask me!

Wouldn't that affect the radiator's performance?
