Triangle Mod Question

Does anyone have a picture or reference to the Stock vs Modified suspension-linkage triangle orientation.  I am wondering if my VFR was lowered via this method.  Currently, with my bike on the center-stand, the triangle linkage seems to be sitting right upon the molded notch in the exhaust.  If it was lowered, I would like to raise it up to "stock" orientation but I cannot find a picture to reference for the stock setup/arrangement.

there is an arrow on the triangle. It should face towards the front of the motorcycle.

that is the stock orientation.

+1 on what Veefer said, it should appear on the top of the triangle between the two bolt locations and read: 'FR ---------->' Where the '>' points to the front of the bike.

Thinking maybe  this bike had a lowering "dogbone" on it.  Anyone with a completely stock setup care to measure the length of their stock linkage dogbone?  Or the distance from the center of the axle to the bottom of the helmet "D" ring locking clip (the thing you attach your helmet to on the sprocket side).  I would seriously appreciate it. 

If my linkage dogbone is indeed a longer "lowering" setup, i would definitely be willing to swap with anyone looking to lower their bike.  Tried different orientations with the triangles last night, but none really seemed to effect height all that much.   

You can tell just by looking at it. Aftermarkets are noticeably different than stock. Take a picture and post it up.

Mine looks like 124mm between the outside edges of each bolt.
Maybe 5mm between the triangle and the exhaust collector.

OK I will measure bolt center to center of the dogbone.  Mine seems to sit literally right ON the exhaust.  On the centerstand, the rear wheel is up about 2 inches.

No, no... I measured mine from the outer edges of the bolts, not the outside of the nuts either. Easier than trying to eyeball the centers. 

My rear tire is on the ground, but I raised the rear. I shimmed the top of the shock mount, so that shouldn't change the triangle. In any case, the dog bone bolts are definitely unaffected.  

OK will check the outside to outside of the bolts on the dogbone.  Is yours a stock shock as well?  How did you shim it?

No, it's a 929 shock. But it's built with an adapter on top to make it stock length. Then I added 5mm of washer between the shock and frame mount.
