My 1998 VFR800 seems to ride a bit rough so I'm looking to get my VFR tuned by a VFR specialist. Anyone know of any around Chicago? I'm willing to ride out around a 100 miles.

If you are looking for suspension tuning as in "your VFR rides rough", then Jamie Daughtery in Ft. Wayne is your guy. He is only a few hours from Chicago, and def worth the ride. He is the VFR suspension guru! He redid the suspension on my '01 and its like a whole new bike. If its engine tuning I have no idea who in Chicago to trust anymore.
It's the engine that feels a bit rough.
The suspension was done by Superbike Italia last year. I'm not a 100% happy with it, just need to find the right settings but that's a different story.

If Jamie does VFR engine tuning too, I might be able to solve both problems with one stone.
Actually, if someone around Chicago has a 5th gen maybe we could go on a ride and swap bikes to compare? I'm not even sure if my bike is actually riding rough or if it's just my imagination.
Well mines not stock exactly and I require a million dollar deposit, it's my baby. My bike knowledge and bs shooting is free.
I've got a 5th gen, but with cooling system and exhaust issues. However my riding instruction school's having an intermediate class day May 4th. I'd definitely recommend taking the class. I'll be there, as well as a couple other instructors. Give you a chance to put her through the paces. My viffer should be fine by then.

I work for ridechicago.com, a motorcycle riding school in the city. It's a blast. We have beginner courses and intermediate courses (aside from some other, less related classes). Check out the site. Are you reving it high enuff when you shift? And what rpms do you cruise around at?
