All 39- Muscle Bikes The BMW K1300R does it for me. As does the previous gen VMax. Also the Yamaha XJR1300. Also, the B King looks dumb.
- Post A Picture Of Your Vfr Pit stop at Michigan International Speedway on a trip to Michigan. Sadly, there was nothing going there that day.
- Anyone In Chicago Have A 5Th Gen With Helibars Installed? Please let me know if you have one and wouldn't mind me throwing a leg over it. I'm thinking of installing helibars on my 5th gen this winter. Before I install them, I'd like to sit on a bike with the helis installed…
- Blessed To Be Alive! Glad you are ok! If you weren't wearing your gear, things could have been very different. It is amazing how often left turning drivers don't see the motorcycle.
- 8Th Gen Review By A 5Th Gen Rider Nice write up. Interesting for me as a 5th gen rider.
- 2014 Vfr800F Test Ride Thanks for the reviews folks. Appreciate the opinion (albeit divided) from VFR owners.
- Regulator Rectifier Issues I would be shocked, stunned, flabbergasted, astonished AND astounded if the Gen 8 has the same R/R problems.
- California Tour 2014 Really nice trip! Would love to do this someday. It is so far removed from the flat plains of Illinois.
- Vfr All "adv'd" - Knobbies Mounted (Tkc80S) - Ultimate "do Everything" Ride? Cool mods. Would like to see some action pictures in dirt.
- Are Heli Bars For Me? Are Helibars meant to relieve strain on wrists or the lower back? My problem has been the lower back a little above the tail bone. Wrists and everything else is fine.
- Vfr Specialist Mechanics In Chicagoland The next time I go for a ride (this week) I'll make a mental note of what I feel is off and post here.
- Vfr Specialist Mechanics In Chicagoland It's the engine that feels a bit rough. The suspension was done by Superbike Italia last year. I'm not a 100% happy with it, just need to find the right settings but that's a different story. Edit: If Jamie does VFR…
- Vfr Specialist Mechanics In Chicagoland My 1998 VFR800 seems to ride a bit rough so I'm looking to get my VFR tuned by a VFR specialist. Anyone know of any around Chicago? I'm willing to ride out around a 100 miles.
- New Vfr800 Vtec Will Be Introduced At Eicma. It looks very very plain. Downright boring except for the wheels and new dash. That front end is bordering on ugly. Sorry Honda, I am not in the least bit tempted to get this bike. The Fireblade on the other hand looks…
- Veefer Madness Welcome. Hoping to see a nice detailed build thread.
- Did Leo Vince Or Akrapovic Ever Make An Exhaust For The 5Th Gen? Never saw either those for sale for the 5th gen.
- Deer Vs Vfr Damn that sucks. Glad you are relatively speaking, OK. Deer incidents are one of the few things completely out of our control.
- Close Call! The only solution is collision avoidance technology. It is starting to be implemented in some cars but it won't be reasonably widespread for years, probably decades. People are sure as hell not becoming better drivers.
- Close Call! Glad it was a close shave and not something worse. I know the feeling, it can be very unsettling. I got hit from behind at a stop sign in broad daylight while wearing a hi-viz vest. For a few minutes I couldn't believe…
- Chicago-Ish Vfrd Meet Up ? Not sure if I'll be in town, but if I am I'm in.
- 5Th Gen Owners Around Chicago With An Aftermarket Exhaust Sweet! Yoshi was what I liked best from what I could tell on youtube. This week is looking rough, but maybe Saturday or next week. Sunday I'll be doing my first track day at Autobahn Country Club :-) When works for you?
- 5Th Gen Owners Around Chicago With An Aftermarket Exhaust I'm looking to replace the stock can with an aftermarket can and all I have to go on are youtube videos. Anyone around Chicago have a 5th gen with an aftermarket exhaust? We could do a group ride and I'll have an idea…
- Question About Riding Through Chicago Do you know what time you'll be driving through downtown? If it's around rush hour you might be better off avoiding it. Otherwise, it can surprisingly quick and easy to go through downtown. One thing to consider is…
- I Know A Guy, Who Paints . . . If there was ever a post begging for pictures..
- Pigs, A Snake, A Dragon, Particle Acceleration, A Bad Disc And Yankie Squids. 7 Days Aboard My 1200. Awesome write up, really enjoyed reading it. Was smiling through most of it :-)
- Vfr Can't Keep Up With V-Rod? Does it really matter if a V-Rod or any bike if faster than yours? If you enjoy riding your motorcycle that's all that matters. There will always be something and someone faster Edited April 12, 2013 by Ashok
- Windscreen Upper Cowl Cover A Pita To Install Going to take the whole thing apart and try again. Thanks for the replies folks.
- Windscreen Upper Cowl Cover A Pita To Install The 1998 VFR I bought used came with a ZG windscreen installed. I'm trying install the stock screen back to see if it suits me better. The installation is easy enough for the most part except for re-installation of the…
- Cb1100 Honda...it Is..... I've been lusting for that bike for a long time. Since I can't have one of these , this newer version would substitute perfectly. If honda were to make those, I'd be first in line with a check in hand. I want this one!…
- "free Musketeers" -> Road Trip - Rsa / Namibia / Lesotho Sweet, can't wait for the report! :lurk:
- Hi-Viz Helmets and clothing This summer I got nudged from behind by a car while wearing an orange reflective vest. In broad daylight. At a stop sign where you have either turn left or right (road ends), so missing a stop sign isn't an excuse…
- Emancipation! This is inspirational! Thank you for sharing.
- Clock and Trip Meters resetting on start up This happened to me fairly recently. The clock and trip meter were getting reset but I kept riding until it didn't start back up after a stop at late in the night far from home. Was afraid (still afraid) that it might…
- Indy Epic Adventure Great read, thanks for sharing
- How to figure out if problem is R/R or Battery or something else? I found that the battery was toast so I replaced that. The R/R is the SH689DA: the upgraded one. Did a voltage test with the bike idling and the voltage is fine at 13.9 V. Will do another test after a ride.
- How to figure out if problem is R/R or Battery or something else? Thank you so much, that is the information I need. The usual symptoms of R/R failure are there (trip meter reset to 0, clock reset to 01:00) and the rest. I'll make sure to go through the whole thing however.
- How to figure out if problem is R/R or Battery or something else? I got my 1998 VFR with 10,000 miles a couple of months ago and right from the start it felt just a bit hesitant to start. Once started it was brilliant, very smooth. Yesterday, I took the battery out and charged it,…
- Hot frame, is that normal? Thanks for the responses. I could hold my hand against it for a few seconds without much discomfort but I can definitely feel the heat. Almost as hot as the silencer.
- Hot frame, is that normal? I just bought a 5th gen and after I rode it home 20 miles, I noticed that the frame (the flat shiny silver colored bit) got a bit hot. I'm guessing this is because the radiators are mounted sideways but I'm curious if…
