I have been wanting to do this for quite a while now.
I finally got off my butt and found a rack and bags for a great price.
Here is how it looks after I modified the rack to fit my high pipe.
I made two spacers which pushed the bags out two inches on each side to make it look correct.
Then I made a new cross support for the back. The stock Givi set up put the support where the pipe is.
I am still waiting for the bolts for the top of the rack then I will pull it apart and paint it all black.
I may add another brake light to the rear support bar.

It seriously makes the VFR look huge now.
But I figure it saved me 8,000.00 that I was thinking about spending on another BMW K1200LT.
I might still buy another BMW.

Looks like it came out good. I like the seat, too, especially with the yellow piping. What kind is it?

Corbin gel.
It held up pretty good for being 14 years old with 46K miles on it.
I prefer Sargent's though.
Better quality and much better customer service.

I have a Corbin on my 4th Gen and couldn't get Corbin to answer the phone, return voice mail or reply to e-mail.
I sent it to Sargent's, they picked up on the first ring, and it is amazing.

Nice work. No lane splitting with that set up!

What model trunk bag is that, I've been looking to upgrade mine, I have the same trunk you have mounted as side cases.

That's  a  big  butt .  Looks  good  tho  ....

Big butt or not, that looks really good. I don't think the width be a real issue though unless you are planning on really leaning while riding. I'll have to show this to the guy buying my 5th gen. If he ever gets here that is.

The sides are E36. I have the original E36 from this bike with a back rest and luggage rack.
After I bought it, is when I found they only fit one helmet.

The top trunk is from my C-14. It is the E55. Two helmets fit perfectly with a jacket.
The side bags will be used for gear storage when the bike is parked.

I'm considering fitting the 257fz monokey rack to my 5th gen, I don't want to spoil the look of her though,I already have a givi e55 tech case fitted to my st1100 that I can swop around.I have an admore lighting  led kit fiited to the box,but I'd need another harness for the Vfr.

This is the Givi 166 set up which I was able to acquire.

I have the original Givi Fifth Gen rack which I may sell.
I had Givi install it in 2000 at Daytona and it severed me well for fourteen years with both the E36 and E55.
It mounts to the grab handles only.
