Now i've some problems with the rear fairing that doesn't match with the tank, and the exhaust is too short for the front cilinder

Thanks.... i need help for some trouble:

Do you know some adjustable (and economic) footrests for rc36ii?
Do you know where i can find the plexy for the rc45 fairing?
Do you know an idea for fixing the lights to the frame?
.... and how to attach the seat to the fairing without using the neoprene seat?

I can't see your photos :sad:

The footpeg bolt pattern for the RC36 is the same as on CBR900RR up to 1996, and also Yamaha R1 2007-2008.

Have a look at the MRA website. Both RC45 & NC35 are listed under RVF750.

Yippee I can see the photos now! Terrific work so far, you are a man after my own heart.

If possible I'd suggest ditching the Sandy exhaust system, it's a terrible design.

What do you mean for "ditching"?

I asked to spare parts the higher exhaust but they send me the lower type and i'm agree .... i think to bend the pipe for an optimal muffler position

Your engine is blasted? It means that will be a naked?

What do you mean for "ditching"?
 

"ditching" is Australian for "Throwing"  as in "throw it in the ditch".

The Sandy headers have really bad internal welds and faults, there a couple of topics on the forum here somewhere.

I see the the internal wrong welds .... but i've removed them with Dremel

On the leftside isn't a good looking, i agree, but at this price i have not find anything

Yes I have gotten lucky with my exhaust system aquisitions over the years, but the project itself has been a case of more talk than action for a long time. It will get there, eventually...

No injection, no ABS, no traction control .... no electronics no problems

Awesome start to a great project!

It is pretty much true that BMWs will try to kill you. Mine tried to kill me on several occasions on a part that should have been recalled but wasn't (IAC valve) that resulted in very snatchy throttle that is perilous on NC backroads.  Then a recall was made on a faulty quick disconnect that leaked fuel and could have set me on fire.  The recall was made shortly after I had my experience, unfortunately.  But for some reason I can't stop riding it. 

I will say that I have had about 30,000 miles of riding the BMW before I was stuck on the roadside (tire hazard aside).  My Ninja 250 went about 3,000 miles before one of the fuel hoses kinked and needed to be replaced.  My 4th gen VFR - 2,000 miles before catastrophic R/R  failure and dead battery combo.  Shortly thereafter it needed a starter. 

I will say I became well versed at bump starting my bikes.

Now i've some problems with the rear fairing. It doesn't fit to original tank (more wide than rc45 tank). I've cut it and now is unusable. Do you know a rear fairing for rc45 that fits on vfr750f tank?

The bike looks terrific so far.

From what I have seen over the years, all RC45 bodywork requires adaptation to the VFR frame/tank.One of our members Mr Matt may have some ideas for you?

Hey Captain,

Great work, I've only been on VFRD sporadically in the past few years so I've missed your project.

I think on my tail section the bodywork was actually a little wider than the tank, I think I bought mine from Airtech since it had 3 mounting points on each side instead of 2.  Thurn Motorsport in Germany has one that is a blend of the 4th gen and RC45ish style

My build has been in limbo for a while, hopefully you can get yours finished and tell me how to finish mine :)  It looks like you are using the VFR subframe, is it chopped?

Also, I noticed you found an upper fairing stay from a ZX6R, I hadn't thought of that but it is a hole in my build.  Do you think you can hang the mirrors on it too?

Hi Mr Matt nice to meet you, finally :-)... thanks for the info for the rear fairing and yes we have modified the original subframe but it is not finished yet. Maybe more high at the seat level. The front frame is the original (for the instruments) but i'll cut because near the windscreen. I've used a zx6r frame for the upper fairing.... and i hope hang it the mirrors (but with two little bar for the correct holes distance)

Actually the problems are: fixing headlight to the front frame (saving the regolation), the exhaust muffler (carbon), fixing the seat on the fairing (maybe a neoprene seat). Today i've bought the mirrors, the windscreen, the blinkers and the rearset

Could you use something like early CBR900RR headlights?  Should be easier to find than RC45 headlights!

For the headlights, Yamaha FZR600/1000 from the early models or 600(3aj)/660(1994-97)/750 Tenere looks like would fit in there.

Or Kawasaki ZXR750 once?

E' uno stockista Honda che compra fondi di magazzino in tutto il mondo e poi rivende roba nuova e originale a prezzi abbordabili rispetto all'Italia. Se ti manca qualcosa di particolare puoi provare lì.

Se hai bisogno di qualche cosa chiedi pure, se posso ti aiuterò con piacere, non sono proprio ferrato con i 750, però... hai visto mai.

Al momento dovrei avere tutti i pezzi, ma dovesse servire approfitterò della preziosa informazione

Adesso la carena è in carrozzeria per verniciatura ed adesivi, a settembre cercheremo di finire (impiante elettrico spellato filo per filo perchè la strumentazione del VTR è completamente diversa)

It's listed as for RS250s but I have one on an RC30 tail that is on one of my Hawk GTs.

Kawasaki airbox will be shaped for an inline 4 bank of carbs.

You will probably have to mod the tank.
