1991 Solo Seat Cowl

I have a rear seat cowl from a 91 VFR750F which I had intended to use on the 1990 VFR ridden by my wife. I had two of the broken tabs remade by a friend who has a fiberglass business and is also a VFR owner. Unfortunately, I recently crashed her bike on a test ride after changing the oil. The cowl was not installed on the 90 VFR at the time and is in very good to excellent condition. Since I will not be rebuilding the bike, I have no further use for it and wish to sell it. Having no idea what this cowl is worth I decided to

run it by my fellow VFR owners. Can someone please enlighten me as to the value before I put on ebay?

In the UK you'd get north of £60 for that

Probably a lot more in the 'States, as the cowl was an optional extra (not included with every bike, as it was in the ROW). When I bought my '90 FL new in California I decided to order the $110 (also optional) center stand, but passed on the $70 cowl...

The last one I ordered out of Britain for my 90 here in the states cost me close to 200 shipped and that did not include the pad. Very hard to find in the US. I think they were discontinued in the US around 96. I got the one from Britain around 2006 or so.

I have one but I've always thought the bike looks better proportioned without it on and the passenger handles ready for use, really. It gathers dust but I couldn't bring myself to sell it. It's been 20 years but maybe someday I'll want to use it. Who knows! :wink:
