Can anyone here confirm that a third Gen rim set will fit a 4th Gen? I know I've seen the 8 spoke rear on other bikes but I have a third Gen front without rotors and before I spend the money on rotors and powder coating I want to make sure it will fit with my calipers. I know the rotors are a different bolt pattern, but if the diameter is the same when installed and the distance between ( 135.7 mm +/-) is the same then I'm guessing its just a bolt on mod. Otherwise I'll buy a 4th Gen rim (my current one is bent) and powder coat it white.

The wheels interchange almost perfectly. I have just replaced the 4th-gen front wheel on my 3rd-gen with a 3rd-gen front wheel (which was, in fact, the bike's original wheel before I had replaced it with the 4th-gen wheel). I hope that's clear!
The discs on the 4th-gen wheel are 0.5mm thinner than on the 3rd-gen wheel, but this difference is not noticeable in practice--the brake pistons move accordingly to compensate.
The only issue with the 3rd-gen rear wheel is that it is 0.5" wider, and in theory could fit a wider rear tyre, which could interfere with something on a 4th-gen, but the 180 rear tyre many people fit isn't wide enough to cause any problems.

I have a Bridgestone S-20's ready to go on the rims once they are PC'ed, a 120/180 combo. I measured my 180 on my UK bike and don't anticipate any problems with clearance on the 4th Gen with this rear. My only problem now is I have been called back to work early and am off across the Atlantic on the ship I work on for who knows how long shortly. So I'll try to have everything ready to go for when I return. And it better not be winter :)
