So my bike died after a quick ride around the block. Got home and pulled and reseated all fuse's and it started up fine. Going to order the wire my bike harness. Also will take my battery to get checked tomorrow. I was told it was changed recently but who knows.

Keep an eye on Your FI light. If it comes on randomly or stays on it could be a ground short. This is common and will result in your bike loosing power or just cutting out then starting up minutes later and running fine until the short kicks in again. If you are going to install the vfrness harness do yourself a favour and fuse the orange ground block on the left side of the bikes wiring harness and improve grounds to the frame.

OK Guys. I tore all the plastics off and check every connector (more on that in a minute). They all looked clean! All of them and all the fuse holders looked good as well. I cleaned and sanded the main ground on the frame and the bike started right up. Weird. Also I could not find the big blue connector. Anybody know where it is? I thought it was on the left side above the radiator but all I found was the Grey one.
If you are looking for the ground block it is orange but it may be under some tape, left side.

It should be right next to the large grey one and of the same size and shape...

maxredline If you are looking for the ground block it is orange but it may be under some tape, left side.
It is orange on the 5th gen and wrapped in black electrical tape in the wiring loom which runs along the left arm of the front fairing support.
In 6th gens from 02-05, it's in the same place but it's yellow.
For the latter two, you need to remove the front fairing to gain proper access.
In 6th gens from 06-12, it's inside the clear cover just in front of the left hand side radiator together with the big blue and big grey connectors. You need to remove the side fairing to access these. It is now orange again.
These details may vary from one country to another.
Yeah I took the tape off the orange connector and it looked perfectly clean. No corrosion at all. I am going to take part the other ground connections on the frame and sand them down and clean them. Every other connector is going to get pulled off and sprayed down with contact cleaner. I hope that does the trick.
The thing is that orange connector is poorly denominated... It doesn't connect shite... Doesn't matter if it's corroded or not, it fails miserably at what it's supposed to do.

How do I go about bypassing it?
You don't bypass it, you solder it together. See the link on previous post, go through the pages. Viffer800canuck, myself and others have posted write ups along with pictures of what you want to think about doing.
Last time I fixed one I did it like this, soldering in two lots (and adding in extra ground wires which I bolted to the chassis for reinforcement).

Why on earth would this even be in place. I mean that orange connector? Pretty silly to be honest. Looks like the cables just connect to eat other. I'll figure something out with that and also see about running a think cable from all of that to a bolt on the motor for ground. That should help.
The beautiful thing is you dont have to figure out anything, it has been done for you many times. All the information on the site will say the same thing, Solder the block and run extra ground to the frame. Don't wait for it to fail when you are on the road because the odds it will.
