The show is Trade only on the 8th-9th and public after that, if you have a business motorcycle related you can attend on the trade days. Being the worlds largest show, many manf's debut their new bikes/products here.

I've been to EICMA a couple of times, but I haven't gone to any motorcycle shows for many a year--I'm just not into new bikes these days. But, as you know, it's an amazingly huge show--much bigger than the US ones I remember from the '90s. Enjoy!
It used to be fairly easy for foreigners to blag their way in on Press Day (tickets are free!), but they've probably tightened up on that a bit... :tongue:
Certainly understand the lack of interest in new bikes, not really why I go there. Did sit on an Aprilia V4 though at the 13 show and, yeah..................... I could do that bike :)
Talked my way in the first time, signed up for the second with my business card,have not heard back this time from my online application. I'll show up on the 8th with a smile, support Milano Big Red Machine t shirt, my passport and card with a VF1000R on it and hope it works.

Definitely put it on your calendar, its a great show in all respects. What got my attention the first time was not the fact that virtually every motorcycle manf was there, with the exception of Moto Morini which was coming out of bankruptcy. But that there were so many after market suppliers in attendance. The internet is a wonderful thing, but there are times when boots on the ground beat the Iterweb for information gathering. ......
I"m looking forward to a report (with lots of photos - hint, hint!) from this. The show in the NW corner of the U.S. has been discontinued. :sad: I'm curious to see if the Honda reps have any intel about continued production of the RC79.
Just spent 3 days at the show. V4Rosso's first pic nailed Hondas marketing at the show. The whole stand was devoted to the FireBlade and there were many. The Africa Twin was well represented also. They had exactly 2 VFR's in attendance off in the corner....................................................................sigh.
I'll post up some pics when I get back to my hotel.

But why push the 2017 'Blade as the next WSB bike, then? One year's development would just have to be thrown away. Maybe it's not that "new"! It would be cool if you were right, though... :blush:

It may be a case of the two factions within Honda that were pushing for an updated Fireblade OR an all new V4 WSBK homologation special both won. The updated 'Blade is pretty trick and will still be sold alongside the V4 that arrives next year. The old CBR would just crushed even further next year without the updates and Yamaha sell a few R1s currently so Honda can have a pair of CBR1000s and then a new SBK next year.

I am not assured that it will fit neatly into the back of a minivan ;-) but I will make some friendly wagers that it is center stage at next years EICMA for Honda's 70th corporate birthday.
I'm in France at the moment with my wife and daughter who flew in today. Its a small town and the internet is Glacial. I'll post one more pic but the rest will have to wait for a better connection.

It doesn't. Saw the Telelever front end though and snapped a few photos. BMW's 1000RR pretty much lifted the same scheme from Honda also.

1. The first time I went to the show I stumbled on the Hells Angels stand by mistake as I stopped to have a Cappuccino. I thought it odd the guy making my coffee was tattooed full sleeve and had a vest on that I really did not look at. When I inquired what Milano 81 and Big Red Machine was, I was, well, surprised. The guys at the stand and the fellow who made my coffee were polite and engaging. I have to say I was impressed that these guys were as welcome at the worlds largest motorcycle show as any executive from the big four.
2. The other thing I took from the first show when I was able to attend on the trade days was the number of young guys 25-45 in wheelchairs and permanently on crutches. There were dozens of each. I certainly won't dwell on the inherent dangers in what we do, but I will say I had a long hard think about what it would feel like to end up in a wheel chair or crutches for the rest of my life and still have the passion to show up at this show. I was on crutches with a bunch of metal in my leg for about 9 months about 9 years ago and well, these guys have my total respect.
