Hi all.
I have just recieved a new RM Stator for my 03 VFR. The new stator is slightly smaller in overall diameter than the original burnt out one on the bike. All other measurement seem to be correct .
My question is, will the new one work being smaller?
More luggage space? 😛
How much “smaller”? I doubt the magnets in the rotor will work very well if they’re not close enough to the stator coils/windings. Better do more research, some of the earlier gen 6 reportedly had different sized stators which required a rotor change ...
There are two sizes: 107 mm and 115 mm. Your '03 needs the larger size stator.
The smaller unit is for 2002 bikes, only.
