Last 50 of 656- Prepping new to me 1998 I've also read a lot about concerns, but I've not had any issues changing battery tech in any of my vehicles. I don't think that the bikes know.
- A short "hello" and introduction If you get south, come ride with us, N2 track days.
- A short "hello" and introduction Welcome. What are you planning to do with your 7 warm days in MI this year? 🙂
- Hello all Welcome!
- My New Dunlop Roadsmart 4 have arrived. Let us know. I won't spend the dosh, as they'll time out before I can wear them out, so I have two sets of IIIs in the closet.
- Better late then never Charlotte, NC forecast updated to 8.3" of frackin' snow...after last weekend with all ice. This isn't why I moved south. lol
- Better late then never I left New England in 2004 and never looked back. Haven't even been back up there in many years...but 2026 could be the ticket once the snow melts and you guys have the one great week...in June. 🙂 Chin up. Build an…
- What other motorcycle sites do you check regularly? I'm on ADVrider also, but it is WAY to active for me. A lot of chatter, nearly impossible to find questions/answers. Truly...forums suck.
- What other motorcycle sites do you check regularly? St. Stephen, 12/27/2025 at 8:06 PM I'm curious to find out who reads what around here, and hey, I might find a great site that I've missed. I read nothing on paper anymore, just some sites and YT videos. My lot: The two…
- What other motorcycle sites do you check regularly? FromMaine, 12/28/2025 at 3:18 PM I do enjoy reading and watching anything motorcycle related I used to, but so much of it is AI generated or just not true that the whole sport has lost a bit of the former shine for me.
- Gotta Ride! Phew! I was thinking the bottoms.
- Gotta Ride! I don't know how you guys are riding, but I've never touched down even at advanced track pace!
- My Delkovic Experience For comparison, in case you want one. https://www.youtube.com/@b-radsadventures6846/search?query=delkevic https://www.youtube.com/@b-radsadventures6846/search?query=staintune
- Speaking of tools... Like every guy, I can't help myself now that I've been researching and shopping. This may be a long post. Ratchets: My super fancy ones from Craftsman (1985ish), as it turns out...are 36T. I ordered a set of ratchets…
- My Delkovic Experience Just the cat back. Too big to save/hang the whole thing on the wall, so I cut just the end to show. Will polish the tip and clean/paint the small end of the can. Maybe put a Scooby sticker on there above/behind the tip.
- My Delkovic Experience Cute. The cleaning, not the hanging. lol Looks like Bartender's Friend is the ticket.
- My Delkovic Experience QQ about shiny cans. I took the one off of my Subaru GT-B and cut the end off (~4" of actual muffler and tip) to clean and shine chrome and paint muffler to hang on the wall. Is there an easy way to do this? [image:…
- How often do you change out your air filter? Every 10k miles on the street bikes the aftermarket filter gets a clean, dry, and reoil. Once a season on the track bikes. It is very conservative as I never notice any difference.
- What did you do to your VFR Today? Shorty levers rock. My activations are all 1 or 2 fingers.
- Speaking of tools... HF makes a lot of adequate and even good stuff. I picked up a three unit used black Craftsman set recently to hold this second set of tools. Probably leave one box on a bench or rolling table as it is frackin' tall with…
- Speaking of tools... 5 hours ago, VeeEffArah I got these for my son when he moved from NC to CO. Was hard not to buy them at basically $100 each. Then got me the Kobalt set as spares for myself.…
- Speaking of tools... ...okay, no one is speaking of tools. I'm putting together a set of reasonably prices DIY tools for a second garage. My experience looking at used online online has been a waste of time, so just going new during…
- My Delkovic Experience I'll bite. I'm confused. The title is Delkevic (I love both of mine-high quality and low price) but this is about something else? Visual impact? Please explain. This does not look very high at all to me. It is hard to…
- What are your tricks to clean out coolant reservoir sediment? Simple Green and just enough water to shake it all over. Never needed anything more.
- How many motorcycles have you owned? No Greg? 🙂
- How many motorcycles have you owned? There are six in the garage today (bottom of list), but the total over my lifeime? 33 off the top of my XLS. 1985 Suzuki GS700ES 1986 Yamaha FJ1200 1990 Yamaha FJ1200 1994 Kawasaki ZX-11 1988 Honda VTR250 1997 Suzuki…
- 2001 VFR revival That sucker looks rough! You're a beast to take it on.
- power commander for fifth gen: worth it? Not a question of legality, but power production.
- power commander for fifth gen: worth it? Yes for the 50 state version. I bought a CA one and it is much less excellent as it does nothing at lower RPM.
- 2001 VFR revival If you bother pulling the forks apart....do the front end. Proper springs and valving. It will make all the difference in your riding experience and safety.
- 5th Gen. 98' VFR800 w/ stock OEM seat.. painful to ride. As a general rule, Corbins are harder/firmer and put the rider toward the back of the seating area. Sargents are softer and flatter. Seems to me that skinny guys like the latter and guys with a gut like the Corbin.
- 98 VFR - Is this overheating? I keep a log (doesn't everyone) at average and high temps that goes with every tank fillup. My 1998 #s are 185F/220F My 2000 #s are 185F/229F
- 2000 VFR made it to new home Pics of the bikes and the areas you asked questions on? Congrats!
- New bike... Pics!?
- fork oil ? Life is too short. I don't care. lol
- fork oil ? I don't understand your question. Are you saying you notice no difference from old fork oil to new? Not uncommon...especially if it is just a daily rider. If you were at the limit on track...you'd absolutely notice.…
- 2003 Vfr800 timing jumped a tooth I don't see a pic for us to confirm...
- rusty crusty 1999 revival Nice kitchen. The first thing that came to my mind was a VFR rolling through while saying "weeeeeee!"
- Gear indicator I've seen them on track bikes for years, but I usually just look down at the MPH/RPM...when they're aligned during normal riding, it is 4th gear on every bike I've ever owned. Little off, 3rd or 5th, depending on which…
- Hello from the humid MidWest! Welcome. Sargent seat is the ticket. monitor the forums. How does the tank look inside? Last brake/clutch fluid flush date/miles from now?
- Howdy from Houston Welcome! You'lll find a lot of great info through searching the forum and the service manuals here. The people aren't bad either. 🙂 (I have an aunt in Houston!)
- Restoration RC36 1995 Perhaps make the angle right and just move the break between the black and white rearward a little. That would also move the bolt and hole into the white section.
- Power Commander 2 Software Id you just surf their site or contact them? I'd write/call. Tell them that you want to keep it old/authentic. They'll likely send it to you.
- Charlotte or Morganton ride Saturday 5/31 Weather still looking great. 70s all day. Anyone interested?
- Charlotte or Morganton ride Saturday 5/31 The weather currently looks perfect for a spin. I'm open to a long local ride east of Charlotte or Morganton. Chime in if you're interested.
- VFRD Spring Memorial Ride 25 Interesting vid! Thanks for sharing. I wish that I could have made it. Triple booked...
- voltage meter I have mine in the tender cord circuit. I charge with it and plug it into the VM when I ride it.
- Balancing the Rear Wheel I have one of those and another for the "other" size balancing shaft/rod/bar. I just sold the two Ducati ones I've had for decades!
- Chain Replacement Issues… Did you find anything unusual...or just air?
- Chain Replacement Issues… I've never bled brakes on any vehicle with the cover on...
