Power Commander 2 Software

New member here 😄 loving the vibes here already ! 

Recently purchased a beautiful 50th year edition '99 VFR800. Didn't realise it when I bought it, but it turns out it has a Power Commander 2 (PC2) fitted (has full stainless exhaust with black widow slip-on). I got myself a serial-to-USB adapter, but the problem is I can't seem to find the PC2 software anywhere. DynoJet seem to have removed it from their website, with the oldest available being the PC3 software.

The bike has a flat power spot around 2.8k (which may be unrelated) where it wants to stall every so often and has erratic idle at 2000RPM (with the idle advancer on cold starts). Just a bit of background as to why I'm looking into this. Curious what map is currently on there...

I understand from reading around these bikes don't like to be slugged around below 3000RPM, which may just be the problem here 😄.

Does anybody know where I can get hold of the PC2 software? Many thanks! 

Id you just surf their site or contact them? I'd write/call. Tell them that you want to keep it old/authentic. They'll likely send it to you. 

I did email them today, thought I'd try my luck here as well. I'll let you know if they get back in the meantime.

Oh that looks about right. Just installed it, it seems to install the PC3 software. Unsure if this will work with PC2, but I'll give it a go.

Anyhoop, I removed the PC2 from my bike and now runs a lot nice at low revs 😂. Must be the previous owner was just a fiddler fiddling with things they don't understand 🤦‍♂️ .

I've got it, the PC2 software and all the US/UK maps. Can put on a Google drive for download if you like, pm me. Still running the PC2 myself.

Mr. vfrcapn, I am very much interested in getting a copy of your PC2 software and associated maps. I recently got a tricked out 5th gen that came with a big box of extra parts to include an unused PCs still in the box, but nothing came with it. Let me know what you need $ wise for the info.

Upon request, Dynojet have provided me with the PC2 software, user manual and maps for the VFR. Thought might be useful to some others as well 😁 !

It has not been tested with Windows 10, and requires a serial port connection to communicate with those older Power Commander 2/3/3r serial units. The USB to serial adapters, which are common in the marketplace, are also problematic. A true RS-232 serial port is recommended. Also make sure that your serial port is assigned in the port range of 1-8 as our software will not address ports using a higher number than 8.

• We also attached the Software User Guide to this email for your convenience.  

You need to have a map open in the software that matches the unit you have, before the software will communicate. I have attached all the map files on a zip file, M101-all.zip for this bike to this email. Please extract the zip file to use the MAP files.

Save the maps to your computer, open it in the software, then you should be able to communicate with the unit. The User Guide will have the procedure to send the map.

It uses this map to determine what the bike is, and therefore what the data type is coming in."

I have successfully tested this on my 5th gen with a CHIPI-X10 RS232-TO-USB converter.

All the files they provided are attached to this thread and I also started a new map file here (pending approval as of today):
