Here are some pics of my bike after doing a few mods over the last couple weeks.

Polished wheel lips
Custom Exhaust
Custom Fender elim.
4 or 5 inches cut off ZG windshield

I'm about to take the bike out to a local bike nite, so I'll come back later and provide all the details.

Enjoy the pics, and any questions, comments and opinions are desired.

Love the windscreen and the exhaust tips. That thing will sound mean.
Hate the exhaust piping. Quick, paint it black before bike night.
#3
Your exhaust system, are they just 1 to 2 splitters on each side without any mufflers? Must be real loud! Those slash cuts look real nice on the bike.
P.S. remember not to park your baby next to those over-sexed Gixxers on that bike night. They will just corrupt her black box and goof around with her coils and plugs real bad!!

You need some plugs for your passenger peg bolt holes. It cleans it up. I got mine at lowes.

Looks good. I am not sure on the exhaust.
#5
Home made Lasers don't look bad, but can only imagine 120 plus db's coming from them that would have to be extremely obnoxious as you just have 4 straight pipes! Glad I don't live out East as I sure you could be herd coming from several states away!

Other than that, everything looks cool. :fing02:
#6
We need a sound clip or video of the new exhaust in action!!!
#7
There is no way you posted this with out a sound clip. Bastid.

Yes Please!! I don't think I could live with the racket, but I'd still like to hear it.

How did you bend your rim? Does it leak any air?

I didn't even notice that!!!
#13
what are you going to do about the inevitable rust on and around those welds?

A for effort, it does look sharp.
#14
The mods look great but I have to imagine those pipes are VERY LOUD!
#15
The pipes are loud, but not too ridiculous unless you're really getting on it. Just cruising through town, I don't think I'm offending anyone, and on the highway cruising at 80 mph, they're not loud at all, in fact I can barely hear them over the wind noise. But when you really go WFO, it is pretty loud, but it's a sound of a screaming witch I've never heard before. I love it.

I ride with earplugs 98% of the time, and with the plugs in, it sounds nice, but not too loud to block the sounds of the XM Radio and GPS.

The exhaust tips were 45 dollars for the set, and the guy at the local muffler shop charged $100 to make the pipes and mount them up. It is my intention to paint the mid pipe flat black with some header paint. Eventually.

...But it sounds incredible. Nobody at bike night has a bike that sounds like this... It got a lot of attention tonight.

The bend in the rim (front matches) was caught by running about 75mph through a sweeper with a surprise pot hole. Nailed it good, but the bike stayed very well composed even while leaned over through that turn. No leaks and no vibration. And the bend was worse than that, but a local shop pounded it out some while changing tires.

FYI IN New York damage like that from a pot hole the government will pay to fix. You just have to submit the info on the pot hole and damage and est to fix. Ya it takes some time and know how to submit but it works.

PLEASE post a sound clip of your bike!

Looks really sharp.

I would have, however, had the exhaust shop grind down the welds or smooth them out. The tips look great. I'm not a fan of loud bikes, but it does look sweet.

I am considerate of my neighbors, and people in general. I don't rev my engine at stoplights, and I try to keep the rpm's down around town. I'm a mostly responsible rider, and I don't want to attract the wrong kind of attention.

WHat's the easiest way to get a sound clip and upload it to the site?
#21
I'm glad I'm not your neighbour, there'd be VFR zorst wars! :goofy:

Look forward to seeing the smooth black version though.

One of the best loking 6th gens that I have ever seen! Good onya :fing02:

Easiest way for a sound clip is if your camera has a video option just take a short movie with sound of it. Second if you have a computer or laptop with a mic just record a sound clip. Third find a friend that has a way.
#24
That looks mean, and I can imagine the sound backs the look up!
#25
I like what you've done with the girl. Looks clean. RC 51 mirrors. Cleans up the front.
#26
Um - wont the open pipes burn valves a screw up you fueling, not to mention mid-range?

Face it dude - I've heard people bitch about opened piped Harleys, somebody will bitch about your open piped vfr.

I think you can get baffle inserts from Jegs or Summit that will slide in those tips and give you better tone. I like the way it came out, except for the midpipe. Black paint at minimum!
#28
ps - keep an eye on it and make sure the tire doesn't hit that pipe, looks like it might get close under load with a new tire...

The pipe has plenty of clearance from the tire. The pics are deceiving.

Bike looks pretty good. very clean looking. But I love the look of those narrow houses in the background.

:musik20: Um.......When are we going to be able to listen to the sound of this? Don't you have any friends?
#36
once again video is needed.

Wrap the midpipe with exhaust header and then use black high temp paint on it.

Great job
