Honda V4 Website

We should all visit this page and tell Honda what we think the next VFR should be.

I've posted my thoughts, a 250 2 stage vtec equipped bike with cup holders :goofy:

seriously 'they' better go on and make this one so I can get a bargain deal on an 09 :warranty:

I like their V4 "heartbeat" symbol.

Does this mean that Honda is actually going to build a new VFR?

They're not going to like what I put down about their concept V4. I said it before. It looks like a X-box interact game piece. It's all plastic.

Well I did the survey, and I'm excited that honda actually gave us the chance to say something in regards of the concept dare I say "VFR".... But from what it looks like they already have their minds made up....V5 supersport, pnuematic valve system, 1000cc... It seems to me the sporttourer know as the VFR is going to the the supersport VFR...I would doubt Honda would produce 2 models ie: supersport, sporttourer.....Its kinda sad to me I really enjoy my VFR because it is a balance of both, my only two gripes Ive ever had with it was the weight/power ratio and stock suspension.....Well atleast the V4 isnt exactly DEAD!!! :unsure:

What Honda should do is a updated RC45. With a 1000cc motor. :idea3: You'll think they will get the hint?

It's nice to see interest in V4 from Honda.
The survey is very poor though. They are not appear to be interested in much beyound CC and some other generalities.
Also, they don't appear to care for the comments from the US riders.

Yeah thats the truth....I dont think they realy get it....but then again considering they did go as far as giving a "LIMITED" survey maybe they have R&D looking at forums for the indepth views maybe one of honda engineers will read this very post.....exciting to think....not likely!!!

So after taking the survey I was looking around the the History section.
I looked at the entry for the 2000 model cause I ride an '01.

The entry for the 2000 model says they installed an "immobilizer".
Now, I have been reading VFRD for many years and am a pretty detailed guy but I have never heard of an immobilizer.

Have any of you dudepersons that ride an '00 found your immobilizer??
What could this item be?
If you remove the immobilizer will the bike gain some HP?

Yeah i seen that too..I have 2000 and must admit I have no idea what an immobilizier was..i was going to ask some of the "techs" here but forgot....so anyone know what it is??what it does?where is it?? can i sell it?? :laugh:

If the styling is going to be anything like the concept or their current line up (excepting the VFR model, which is beautiful), I'll be looking elsewhere should I ever decide to replace my 98 model.

Sad to say but Im currently already looking to replace my VFR (when its time) with possibly a K1200s, Blackbird, and possibly a Hayabusa with helibars and corbin Beetle bags......

It is called H.I.S.S.
Euro Hondas are equipped with an immobiliser. Do a search for HISS and you'll find some more info.

Done! And I selected everything about the survey that would help slant it towards sport touring. <grin>

And everybody *does* need to take the survey!! Why?

A) It will help keep the V4 engine format alive?
B) If a super sport is successful - then spinning off a sport touring version is more likely.

I wish they would have given the option for actual comments. I'm sure most people here would have strong opinions and advice for how the new V4 should look and feel, and checking boxes for that wacky concept isn't good enough.

Yeah I noticed that too. They skipped us, but at least they're looking for some kind of input. Now we must wait another 2 years for it to make it to the right ears and take effect. I say 2012 before another drastic model change.

Preach it Rusty... I've pushed and prodded and even hit Honda's high mucky mucks over the head and still
they don't seem to get the hint that they should build an 1000cc V4... not to mention a 600cc V4 as well...

If Soichiro (the founding father) thinks the V4s are the perfect motorcycle engine then why aren't they busy
producing new models???

Could be some engineer('s) trying to justifed their jobs by coming up with this stuff. "Maybe we won't get fired, if we can fool management that we're working on the next V4, instead of watching porno's all day. And doing the 5 kunckle shovel on the pee pump!"

I wish to heck they had an opinion box...!!!!

I would have added: fully adjustable suspension, de-linked brakes, and less weight.

Unfortunately, I've been on opinion committees before, they ask the questions they want answered about the way they are going to do it, not what YOU want, and generally ignore evrything else.

While I do like the history shown on the site, the V4 was used a few more times than mentioned... My GF's Magna would be a perfect example...

Unless of course, they want to drop the VFR name, and just call the new versions simply "V4"... That would justify the VFR/Interceptor only focus (excluding the one Sabre). Dropping the VFR would be pretty lame though.

I also thought the "survey" was a little useless. Although they did ask a CC question, and gave you one option to pick what kind of bike the V4 should be, everything else was how we felt about the concept. I did like the color though. :cool:

Well, I haven't logged on to VFRD in a while and I see this thing. I guess Honda didn't come out with a new VFR for '09? I haven't been following. Hopefully, when I'm ready to get back on a VFR I'll be able to pick up a late model 6th gen cheap. Boy do I miss my '03!

don't list my bike... sum V4 survey... I can't even check off my V4...

The prototype is so far off from what will necessarily be the real deal that it is not even worth commenting on the styling.

Well i signed up for the news letter, and I guess no news..i havent even recieved a conformation notice!!!??? I dont think they (HONDA) care.... :dry: Whatever like I said Im looking to go a different route when my 5th gen dies anyway....which hopefully will live long enough to see its replacement....Im really thinking hard about that busa with helibars and givi/corbin setup.....
