Isn't there some old wives tale about white on a motorcycle being bad luck or something? Anyone else heard that? The color combo isn't bad.

That's exactly what I thought when I logged on this morning.
#4
Agree. The white looks great IMO. :fing02:
#5
+1

Disappointed I can't buy one.
#6
Maybe we all just like it because we can't have it.
#7
For some reason it doesn't look as bulky in white, it doesn't have the black noise cowl like the silver bike or 6th gen. I'm not a big fan of the red much at all. A better shot of the silver would help.
#8
love the white too!. I wouldnt even molest it with my rattlecans.

and seb, its green bikes that are unlucky.
#9
silver for me......
#10
I agree, easily my favorite for the new bike! The white color combo makes the bike look slimer overall.

Good point about the nose cowl.
That might induce me to steal one of Timmy's rattlecans (if he has any silver ones).

Shamelessly stolen from our friends at VFRWorld:

I like all three colors. I just wish that the silver area behind the seat was color matched to the rest of the bike. I can't figure out why they painted that area silver.

Sort of like this.

+1 white looks very BMW-ish, i also just notice the tank looks like the hump on a buffalo, in fact the whole thing resembles a buffalo.
#14
The white looks slick but Silver gets my vote for sure :fing02:
#15
a silver and white one for me. :fing02:

needs to be Pearl White too.

I think it goes with the "layered" effect. The silver layer is the "inside" layer, so the back of the bike is emerging from the front. So it's like a calving buffalo.

I finally came up with a nickname that might actually stick! WhooHoo! :wheel:
I'll keep my Praying Mantis looking 6th gen for now.
#22
5th gen = Klingon (bird of prey)
6th gen = Origami
7th gen = Breaching Buffalo :)

I like the Silver the best, mainly so the calving aspect is blended in...

I'd risk it..... :goofy: .....I'm with BR, that thing looks really good in White.... :fing02:
#24
Yup, as I said before, looks good in white. But keep in mind that, of the three bikes diaplayed on this picture, it is the one that has the best light. I expect that other colors will show well given proper set up and that eventually other nice colors will be added to the list of options. Maybe the price would go down too, who knows...

White and Black are colors that seem to hide lines and definitions. I like the white as well because of that but would rather have black.

Jim, I can't help it, my first VFR was a Pearl White 93 which I still think is one of the best looking VFR's to date so my taste is still running down those lines! :fing02:

Yeup someone do her up in yellow..

The white one sure pops in the pictures though...

Id take a white one..even though silver would probably be faster :goofy:

If that was the case then Id have to have a matchign silver one.. two silver VFR's that be cool!

Yeppers. You would think if weight and bulkiness were a concern for the bike, they would put a model out there with a little more... visual gravitas. You know, someone like Mimi from the Drew Carey show, to take attention away from the two-wheeled behemoth. :goofy:

Anyway, as far as my color choice - does anyone know if there will be the typical Honda US-market offering of an orange bike with bright green/purple/black flame/tribal graphics? That'd be totally rad. :fing02:

There's no interceptor like a yellow interceptor. It was one colour Honda never bought out on the 6th gen either. Maybe we'll see one on the 7th.

The black scheme is amazing as well. Surprised Honda didn't roll it out as an option like the test mule over the Summer. But, you can only stuff so much paint in those production paint guns. 4 color options would've been overkill on a first year introduction. I'm sure we can look for it as an option down the road. Maybe R159 Italian Red, also. :)

The white buffalo is sacred.
#50
I've seen the bike at the Dallas show and mentioned this in another thread but fyi anyway...

Awfully certain that the tank just has 2 fairing like panels on the side of it! If that's true, repainting one of these would be dead easy. No tank to paint, take off, mess with etc etc.

Just the 2 upper fairings, 2 lower fairings, front fender and the small piece in the middle near the headlight. Even the Honda logo on the lower fairings is the same for all colors.

You want white? order the color from Honda, do the prep work yourself, a few hundred bucks to spray it and you got white :)

I think I'll take the one in Black for a ride over the white one, she's prob. faster, better handling, run further and longer given the extreme weight advantage and better aerodynamics.

Perhaps when one of these is in a light lowside, it might be nice to see one stripped of the fairings, big round light and maybe a bikini fairing like some of the Ducati Monsters got. Paint the rest of it orange or maybe a really dark green.

Kind of a resounding theme with me and what might make a fun project, regardless of generation of VFR.

As much as I do not like the X front end of the vfr12, I really think it looks sharp in white. I do not care for the candy apple color. Hopefully one day, when I encounter money again, I can repaint my 99 in a metallic white :comp13:

:+1: Agreed, I've thought the same thing. Same on the front fairing, I think that I'd like it much better without the silver "accents" there.
#75
Honda are going to be cranky that we're revealed their plans for 2011 and the "Bold New VFR colors" :goofy:
#76
I would like to see anything besides the red we have been given so far. While their at it, let's dump the silver accents and wheels. Some graphite or black wheels would look much better. It needs some help to give it a "younger" look. I feel it's a bit sportier than a Concours or FJR1300 and should look the part. As it is, it looks like it's shooting for a senior discount or something.... ;)
