This last few weeks have been a real trial of emotion for me, the whole loss of the old girl at Tmac and the subsequent replacement with the veefalo, she has been a God send. Somebody up there has been looking out for me, and delivered me in safety when I could have faired much worse! Then the members of this board banding together to find me a replacement that is above and beyond what I could imagine possible, well I am just speechless. Giddy, happy, proud, validated, and I love telling complete strangers the whole story cause, well even Cinderella didn't have it so good! I am clicking my riding boots together ... there's no place like vfrd...theres no place like vfrd! Oh Toto I am not in Kansas anymore!
I salute you!~
HS
Just glad to be a part of the solution Miguel!
And don't forget, the front wheel's valve stem is MINE! ALL MINE! :fing02:
Oh, and I claim the balance weight on the front wheel too!
You deserve it.
All your hard work and dedication to this site has been a tremendous help four countless members. I believe I can speak for eveyone here in saying that we are very happy for you.
Thanks so much, and enjoy your new steed!!!!!
 :+1:

Thank you HS for providing such a nice site to enjoy :fing02:

The only request that I ask in return, is that you put your feelings into words (as above), and send them to all major Bike mags, Honda, Network programs, local papers etc. and really give this story some wings!
If nothing else, it will at least be a great 'feel good' story for everyone who rides! :fing02:
Greg
As stated above, it makes me happy to know that I was a part of something that is as cool as this. HS you absolutely deserve this, hopefully we just bought a few more years of you running a shape ship. Thanks.
Good health, new bike, new Aerostich leather two-piece suit! Life is good! Enjoy! Pay it forward and eventually all will be right in the world.
Was at my local Honda Power House last night after work picking up my rear box and looking at the new VFR. Sales girl comes over and starts talking to me and she gets telling me about this internet myth she had heard where some website bought the forum owner a new 1200. She said it was the funniest thing she had ever hear. Until I told here the story was 100% true and I know this because I know the guy that is riding a new 1200 because of people from this site. She couldn't believe me and had to go look it up. As I was leaving she had most of the dealership staff reading VFRD over her shoulder :fing02:
Slammer no problem with being speachless, just keep the site running and thats more than enought for us :bliss:
Thank you for the time and money you put into developing and maintaining this invaluable website. :fing02:
Dude! You deserve it! This site rocks. Vis a vis - you rock!

Nice. The legend of Slammer lives on in the north!
I told all the guys at work when it started happening, and every day they'd ask me "how much are you up to now?"
They all figured it's super cool that we banded together to make this happen. :laughing6-hehe:
Hispanic Slammer (Miguel), A great big thank you to you for being the webmaster of such a wonderful site. Big things can be accomplished if everyone pulls together. It makes me proud to be a member of this site. Thanks again for devoted effort. Hope the new bike gives you many years of service!
Thanks for VFRD and all your dedication and hard work!
Thanks to the members who started this adventure and would not let it die. :fing02:
Thanks to all who donated with joy to see this day!
I can't wait to see you and the veefalo in person.
Keep Smiling :laughing6-hehe:

Wonder if VFRd & HS will make to Snopes.com?!?
Congrats Miguel, I was happy to participate. This site has saved me alot of dough. Valve check howto, tire change, electrical mods, and most of all, people, which I call friends, I would have never met. :laughing6-hehe:
What goes around comes around HS. 'Twas your turn to collect!! Cheers man!! :laughing6-hehe:
:laughing6-hehe:
this site has saved me over three times the amount I donated in numerous ways. It's a small payback for the friends I've made, confidence I've gained to wrench on my own and how to safely ride at TMac
Thanks and enjoy the new toy
It was great to be a part of this and actually see it happen! good stuff.
Just make sure you are clicking your riding boots together and we don't see a pic of you on the veefalo in red high heeled shoes. :laughing6-hehe:
Dude? I wasn't going to say anything but you're kind of a dick without your motorcycle. :laughing6-hehe: Just kidding. I'm thrilled you finally got it and that the people on this forum stepped up and collectively did something great for someone who also does something great for us.
Long live the Veefalo!!!!!! :laughing6-hehe:
Like someone else stated, I hope more people catch wind of this story and it spreads like wildfire :fing02:
This story has caught on big time in Sweden. Watch the whole thing. Unbelievable.

That's so Fawsome. :laughing6-hehe:
I love it when a plan comes together! HS you are very deserving of all this. While I am sure it feels strange to accept all this generosity... just enjoy it!!!
VFRD has really helped me out with my VFR ownership. I would have given up on my VFR if it wasn't for this site. Thank you!
Great video Capt Bob! :laughing6-hehe:
Mel Brooks summed it up best... "It's good to be the King!"

Live that high life Miguel, enjoy it!!
Well deserved HS.
I'm just glad, when at the age of 46, and I purchased my first motorcycle, that it was a new 2003 VFR. This site you run has made motorcycling an even greater experience (great people, information, etc).
Have fun and be safe on that torque monster.
ki-speed (Mark)
You are welcome.
good things can happen to good folks.

HS....you totally got what you deserved. :fing02:
In the short time I've been a VFR owner (November '09) this site has saved me WAY more than the donation I made... So happy this happened and congrats to you sir on your new ride. I see it as money well spent!

Ok, I have to jump in here, that video is crazy , classic, do they still say that?
I wish I knew how to get some screen shots of Migel in the background, the crowd scene is hilarous,
I can see the demonstration/support signs at the next riders safety meeting.
This site just gets better all the time.
Migel, you're welcome.
HS you deserve this! :cheerleader:
However it's not as unique as people think.
More like, part of the V4 tradition.
You're welcome HS :cheerleader:

Wow... that's wicked!!
HS... if I added all the cash I've saved through this site... doing my own repairs based on the knowledge gleaned from VFRD, the result would be well over 8000... and a good second-hand one is worth around that or less these days... this has been spread over about 4 years. That's a couple of month's salary per year I've saved...
If I compare that with what I've donated to this site... it makes me look like a mega-miser tightass...
Thank you and may you enjoy La Bfala in good health!!

PLUS FRAKKING ONE to everything said so far!
Miguel, I joined in 2002 and VFRD has become an integral part of my life over the last 8 years. Thanks to YOU!
If you added up all of the hours involved in constructing/maintaining this site and divided it by the price of a new VFR, nobody would EVER accept the webmaster postion based on the ridiculously low wages. :cheerleader:

True dat Mailman. They might even go postal on someone! :cheerleader:
And the cool thing is that he wore his "2008 Kootenay Hootenanny" shirt when he picked up his new bike! Good to see you in person at that meet.
:cheerleader:
Good link Capt Bob. Those crazy Swedes. :cheerleader:
I'm glad I could play a small part in creating an internet myth.
And helping our man, Miguel. You deserve it. Thanks for all you do Miguel!
Miguel, it was a privilege to play a small part in bringing the Veefalo to VFRD!
I'm with everyone else; your site has been a God-send many times over, not to mention the constant exchange of ideas, humor and information.
The little bit I gave pales in comparison to what I've received.
You, sir, are more than welcome.
Great stuff for a great guy and a great community! :fing02:
I feel the same way about the members here at VFRD and I didn't even need to receive a new VFR.
BR
Wait, what, Miguel got the new bike? I thought we were doing a raffle for the new VFR???
Hope you enjoy it HS, it's really been a pleasure to be on the site and meet you in person a couple of times. Hopefully I'll run in to you again and get a chance for a quick ride on the 1200. :fing02:

That video rocks so hard!!!! Slammer you are the man I hope you enjoy the bike...You deserve it!
Miguel showed me every great road in this state, the great places to eat along the way, and the name of each mountain range we ride.
I was more than happy to pledge, but honestly I thought it would never really happen. Pledges sort of peaked early and then were slow to grow. The word came out though that this was real and it was time to honor your pledge. VFRD not only met the current listed pledge total but far exceeded the previous pledge level.
Miguel and I have logged many of thousands miles together and I can tell you guys and gals that this is as real as it gets regarding his passion for bikes, riding, and everything that comes with that experience. Oh ya, he loves the VFR line too!
We have a group ride planned on Monday to ride some awesome Colorado roads. I have no interest in riding his bike, it is all about the ride and laying down the miles on some great roads with great friends. VFRD made this next ride happen with Miguel's new 1200, and for that I thank VFRD, what a great group of people.
RedDog
Congrats. I do have to admit that I don't have a clue on whats going on other than the fund raiser.

Miguel,
I told my lovely wife the story of Veefalo... from the sad loss of the old girl, to BR and others coming to your aid and finding you a ride for weekend; to how this band of brothers & sisters, many of us real world strangers but cyber friends, unprompted and un-coerced, got you back in the saddle; to your travels coming to get your new girl and those who came to support you... and my lady, who rarely if ever, is at a loss for words... stared at me, smiled, hugged me, and whispered the one word that says it all... "wow"
This story is not only a feel good story for all us riders... it is a confirmation of the brotherhood of riders. With all the craziness in the world this story touches all... riders, those who love riders, anyone with a heart. I agree with Veefer, share the story, share the goodness, share the smiles...
Thank you for all that you, and the VFRD communty that you created, has done to help us all... Russ
Thank you Miguel... you know how to multiply our pleasure and divide our grief... salutes back...
Happy to be a part of the circus and the contributions, thanks again to you guys who put it together on behalf of all of us.
I told my wife about it too when the idea was first floated, she thought it was a great plan - she can't believe we did it and sends her best wishes to you Miguel for a long and happy partnership with Veefalo
It's a great story for a great site!
Happy to help. Who's next? :fing02:
man i'm psyched this actually came to fruition ! good for you . and thanks again for one of the best sites on the web !
