Stock internals. Stock appearance. Minimal modifications necessary. Unmatched rideability. For a 6th-gen owner seeking considerably more power, look no further; the A&A Performance 6th-gen supercharger kit combines big power with seamless operation, all while hiding behind the stock bodywork. If you are thinking about buying a larger displacement machine, but do not want to part with your VFR, a 55-65% boost in power might just be what you are looking for, and this kit will provide just that.

Amazing...Well done Toro! I hope you sell many many kits, and I would love to see/ride a bike with one installed one day
Rock on my friend
Vince (97VFR750)
Extraordinary. Looks good in every aspects, the kit itself, the way it is nicely hidden behind the fairing and lasty the dyno charts :fing02: Wow!
Amazing build quality and performance... outstanding! I hope you sell many kits and have great success. Hopefully, someday... one of those kits will be mine!
Toro1 does it again!
Waiting for powerball to hit so I can mod my 5th gen with your first kit. Congratulations Toro1!!!! :cheerleader:
Toro, those look awesome! I am only in school about 4 more years, can you put a 5th gen model on layaway for me? Please?
Got a newbie question.
Does the kit come with a blow off valve? From what i can gather its the Bosch bypass valve but i couldn't hear it on the Youtube clip.
Money's in the bank, just got to figure out how to get it from mine to yours without prying eyes noticing

It's definitely there, as can be seen in the kit layout and airbox pics, but one of the reasons I use the Bosch valve is because it is so quiet. You can hear it on the road if you come down from high rpms or do some quick shifting, but it's nothing like some aftermarket BOVs -- if you want that type of sound, you can always swap the valve for another one.
Nice work Dan... so mate... what's next???

Sweet.
Do you need to buy just the right-hand side radiator from a 98-01? What about hoses etc. ?
Amazing job Toro! The wife and I were saying when we pay my bike off I'll get a Superbike for the power craving, don't think I need to now. I know where my money's going.

OMG, Toro, that kit turned out 5 times better than I imagined. Absolultly lustful, beautiful craftsmanship.
I have to say I doubted you when you started the 5th gen project. I really didnt think it work.
I doubted with the vtec because of the vtec.
You freaking rock! I am a honda tech and you have skills my friend. Now to rob the bank. It sux the economy has hit my household. I want one so bad. I would buy your kit over a new bike, no doubt. Who else has a SC bike, let alone a V4. Ear porn.
How are there no wires on the right side? I only see the stator, RR connector.
I bought my '09 with no plans whatsoever to modify it, but I have to say that I wish I had the money for this kit! It seems very nicely put together, and the power gain is really impressive!
I wonder: do you have any plans for performance testing? It would be great to see quarter mile times, top speed, etc. Video footage of the bike accelerating would be great, too. I'm sure it's a monster.
Looks great. Sounds better.
Good job. :fing02:

Oh, they are there. The only things I removed were the EVAP canister and related accessories. Everything else was made to work with the kit, and the wires & wiring harnesses are uncut and intact -- somehow everything fit.

I haven't had the bike for a while now, so any new info or vids of this bike will have to come from its owner. I can say with certainty, though, that the performance is outstanding, and pulls with the authority of 170+whp. Here's what the owner (Tim - spinrb8r) had to say:
Well Gentlemen,
As you've seen throughout the thread Dan is a genius, and a very personable guy. I've been working alot of long hours so I haven't been on the bike as much as I'd like but the SC is AMAZING!
Fit and finish as you can see in all the photos is truly top notch. Dan has successfully put 5 gallons into a quart jar and fit it very nicely. For those of you that are concerned about the VTec manageability you're way off. The powerband is far more predictable now than before and sooo much smoother. That sensation of being hit in the butt with a 75lb tennis racket when you crack 6800rpm's is a forgotten memory. The torque that comes in at 3+ grand and doesn't quit til 12+grand now has my cheeks cramping from smiling so much. I know there are others who wanted to compare the performance of a Busa to my VFR and having a close friend who has one that I have ridden (until his most recent addition of a bottle under the tail section that looks just like a 3rd can) I'll go with mine hands down. Sometime in the near future we'll line 'em up and give you a report but I'm certain he'll have his hands full trying to get ahead. As Dan pointed out the bike can be ridden lazily just as if no mods were ever done and it behaves well and the fuel economy is good and the only noticable difference is that pulley spinning inside the cowling hole...........who am I kidding here. There's 173 PURE dynoed ponies in there waiting to run, Granny Gert I am not. I probably will not give you guys a track opinion this season cuz I need to get a good break in and I'm working too much to get there but I'll write a review for you the first time I go. Thanx again Dan for the excellent work you've done and the professional way you conduct business.
Tim
Tim said his buddy (who also is an avid track rider) wants to rig up some cameras to the VFR and his own bike, and then take them out for some "spirited" riding. As soon as this happens, I'll get a video together and post it online.
Talk about a sleeper! If you could hide that pulley it would be a perfect sleeper bike with only the sound to give it away. That is awesome work and the build quality looks top notch in the pics. I wish I had an extra $4500 laying around.
Come on guys! I need a few more to step up to the plate. Don't yinz want to see "Let the Mods Begin, Part IV" ? LOL

Toro, that's so sweet!
I have question, is there any problem putting down that much extra power on the stock 180/55 rear tire? Would you want to jump up to a 190/50 or at least go with a stickier supersport tire over a sport touring tire? Just curious.

I've never had a problem. Perhaps if you do track days you might need some extra grip, but on the street the traction has been perfect. Remember, the supercharger does not turn your bike into a tire-shredding torque monster -- the power keeps increasing as engine speeds increase, so while power wheelies will be abundant, way down low (< 4000rpm) it feels similar to stock. However, if you were to cruise around a turn with the engine tached up into the mega fun zone, and then decided to open the throttle all the way, God help you...
Just be sure to use your brain while riding and you will be fine.
"The mega fun zone", NICE! :fing02:

I better get my butt in gear, and finish some things that need done before this shows up at the house. :491:
Sounds exactly like an early '70s big block Can-Am car. Off to by lottery ticks
My CBR & 1198 have been getting all the attention for the last 6 months, and my poor VFR has languished in the garage. (except for the completely new suspension I did right before TMAC)
This makes me REALLY want to get the VFR out & bolt on some power to surprise people.
Let me know when you need a donor bike to do an 08 + CBR1000RR. I would LOVE to see what this could do to my track bike:-)
Hi Guys. I've just joined this forum and this is my first post.

Welcome to the forum and :cheerleader:
Okay, okay....you guys have twisted my arm enough. I'll throw in my '08 to be number 5 if each of the four of you cover just 20% of mine ----- I'll go ahead and make up the last 20% and you guys will have your blowers. Seems like a good way for us all to pitch in together and have a very merry Christmas and a really fun...I mean happy new year.
Sound like a plan????? :comp13:
Seriously.....I wish I could....been thinking a lot about this lately.
Cricket. Cricket. Somewhere, a cat ran away.
This kit would truly make it worthy of the Interceptor name.
Okay folks, first the good news: the kit is going into production right after the new year! I have enough orders at this point to make things happen, so a big thanks to all those who have jumped on board.
Now the bad news: the pre-order discount will expire at the end of this week, December 3rd!! In other words, if you've been thinking about getting this kit and would like to save nearly $500, now is the time to act. After the 3rd, the price will revert back to the un-discounted amount of $4745.
For everyone else, stay tuned for some wild ride reports in the upcoming months... :wheel:

Another milestone. I can't believe it's been 3 years since the kits for the 5th generation came out. I was smitten by the idea of my own supercharged VFR but I never thought it would happen. Now I'm customer number three and I'll have my kit ready in 2-3 months time.
I'm planning to travel to Holland to get it installed. I have a close friend there who is a very keen motorcyclist, and knows a lot of people in the knowledge in Holland (such as Ten Kate team). He also runs a motorcycle parts business, selling performance parts to Turkey (he is Turkish by the way) through his small company. He'll sell the kit to me thereby receiving the customs tax back. I'll just ride my bike back to Turkey, and since the kit is already installed on the bike, I'll pay nothing at the Turkish customs.
You may ask if the travel costs will alone surpass the 18% customs tax + shipping difference but this will also be a biking holiday for me. I never travelled to Europe on bike before so this will be very exciting. I will get on a train from the Bulgarian border and ship the bike to Vienna, Austria. My buddy says he may come down there, so that we could travel through nice scenic roads towards Holland (he knows his way around Europe). Once there, we will install the SC in his shed and take it to a dyno to fine tune it (I have to run it in first though, right Dan?). Depending on my schedule, I'll either get back home or travel some more in Europe.

Goedemorgen Dutchy  ,
That'd be great. I'll definitely keep you posted. My buddy lives in Apeldoorn (I hope I haven't mispelled it) so I hope we can get together. He knows Kenan really well, and invited him to his house for barbecue a few times. I met him a couple of times too. I remember one of his first sessions in a racetrack in Turkey, getting advise from another buddy of mine (who was second in 1999 Turkish Supersport Championship aboard a Ducati 748 SPS, oh how times change  ). I doubt he'd remember though, since we spoke very briefly. That'd make for a great photo in VFRD if he accepted riding my bike in Assen though...
I'll be happy when I just get the Torocharger on my bike...

Alright everybody -- while it certainly took longer than originally anticipated, we're finally ready to start production on the 6th-gen kit!
Before starting, though, I just want to check and see if anyone else is interested in a kit, as a limited number of parts are going to be machined. Production will take at least 2-3 months to complete, and while the current selling price is $4745, for the upcoming week only (ending 2/18) we are offering a $150 discount.
If you have any questions, or would like to secure yourself a spot in production, just let me know.

With this increased power, is there any risk of engine failure due to the fact the engine wasn't designed for such power?
Great news. I don't know why I thought you already had units produced and ready.
Hope the hard work pays off.

Short answer: Yes.
Real answer: Any time you design any engine of any type to put out more hp/torque you reduce the life expectancy of said engine. Toro's design uses a supercharger with linear power that the stock internals can stand up to quite effectively combined with the PCIII/V. Your biggest issue will be doing the regular maintenance and keeping your front wheel on the ground. You should look up his previous posts as he has answered this very question in greater detail. :fing02:

If you run junky gas and stay in high levels of boost (6+psi) for extended periods of time (land speed racing, ghostrider antics on the highway), then yes, you are definitely pushing your luck. Detonation and pre-ignition must be avoided at all costs, as that's really the only thing that can hurt an engine at this power level (the rod stresses are actually lower than normal due to the combustion process taking place over a greater range of crankshaft rotation, which is why the engine feels, and indeed is, smoother under boost). I can't guarantee anything, but these engines are tough little lumps, and thus far, not a single internal problem has occurred in any blown VFR to my knowledge.
The VFR800 engine is a derivative of the RC45, which made 190hp before they discontinued racing it. HRC actually ran short of some RC45 parts shortly before they changed over to the RVT1000RC51 and made a submission to be allowed to use VFR800 heads in World Superbike.
Just stay below 10,500 rpm where the SC only makes 150rwhp if you are worried about it :lobby:
Some mechanical endeavors end up with a result that is far and away greater than the sum of its parts. This definitely looks to be one of them. Off to buy more lottery tickets.
Just want to say that's amazing, pretty much stock look, wow!

Like the previous poster said, if it's power you're after then a Torocharger would be a better answer. Though that would leave you with a 170hp engine in a bike with a frame, brakes and suspension designed to handle 110hp.
There was a post in the 7th gen. VFR board about the possibility of transplanting a 1200 engine into the VTEC chassis. This was posted by one of the 7th gen owners. I disagree with this statement, but I'd like the get Toro's and spinrb8r's opinion if possible since they have first hand experience. Oh I've bought the kit by the way...

I'm sure anyone who owns or has ridden a blown VFR will tell you that (compared to a stock VFR, that is) in no way does the frame, brakes, and/or suspension feel overtaxed from the extra power. If you're unhappy with those items before the install, you'll be unhappy with them after the install, too. Now, if you feel that power wheelies are too much for the chassis, then I suggest you either lower the bike, gear it out to wazoo, practice greater throttle control, or just enjoy the ride.
I have not ridden the 1200 yet, but I have ridden plenty of literbikes and some big-inch Harley's too, and from looking at dyno charts, the biggest advantage the 1200 (or any big displacement bike) has over a supercharged 800 is in the bottom end torque department (which in this case would really only be noticed in 5th & 6th gear). The transmission gear ratios + boost give the 800 ridiculous pulling power in the lower gears, and if that's still not enough, change the final drive ratio around for some 5th-gear unicycle action.
As I've said before, if the main thing you look for in a bike is roll-on power in 5th & 6th-gear from 2500-6500rpm, then the 1200 is where it's at -- for everything else, I guarantee a Rotrex equipped 800 is more than adequate.

For real? Never really thought about it.
Dont get me wrong I love my bike, but I thought those guys would have been after bigger and better things. Thought they would have seen it all (and more) before.
At the time I spoke with Dan I was the only confirmed order but he said he had a few others from Australia looking into it.

Toro1, PM sent for kit purchase.

For real? Never really thought about it.
Dont get me wrong I love my bike, but I thought those guys would have been after bigger and better things.
Are you kidding? A story about what most blokes consider an "old man's bike" tweaked up to 170HP at the rear wheel with solid reliability? They'd leap at that story!

Maybe, but AMCN don't do a lot of custom bikes. 'Rapid' on the other hand... send Jeff Ware a message and I'm sure he'd be keen to feature it.

At the time I spoke with Dan I was the only confirmed order but he said he had a few others from Australia looking into it.
2 more kits coming to Australia
I know that the seller of the kit had two interested parties........
I wonder how many kits he sold all up...
I would be interested too ;)
