Today I got home from my buisness trip and low and behold my Corbin Smuggler arived. Much thanks to Captain Bob for selling me his slightly used smuggler. it has been an exhausting three year search for this highly sought after seat (at least by me). I'm super stoked!!
Tomorrow I have an appointment at Corbin in Hollister to have some fresh apolstery done up.

I guess we know he keeps the grapes...
Baaa Ha Ha Ha Ha
Thats good Stuff!
wish there was one for the 6th gen.
They should really start making those again. You forget how convenient it is to have a huge easy to access space for storage on the bike. Just got my Tuono back from getting the suspension done and can't cry too hard over my beloved Smuggler. Rides much nicer. The VFR is still the best all around motorcycle even with the stock seat. Going to modify the stock seat cowl to work with the passenger handles so it will look right again. Glad your happy. :tour:
Let's have a beer at Laguna Seca this year if you're going.
Ok so i showed up first thing 8:00 am at Corbin in Hollister Ca to get my Smuggler reapolsterd. Thanks Corbin they not only reapolstered my seat, re-shaped the foam to fim my ass! But were able to put new seat bumpers for a nice firm fit on the Bike.

Love the idea of that seat. Had an off the shelf Corbin on my zrx that was a little stiff for me but I bet a custom one would be awesome.
Side question. What pipe is that on your bike?
What did Corbin charge to re-do the seat?
Cheers,

the silenceer is a Delkavic and it is awesome. I removed the baffle (one screw) and the throttle responce is awesome! its just as quick to respond as an inline 4.

Cheers,
I'd be interested in pricing also, my Corbin is getting pretty old and could use a re-do.
VFRcptn
I've taken three seets back not to Corbin for re-apolstery. To have a full seat redone is $250.00 if you drive in to Corbin. The Smuggler was $200.00
Corbin quoted me something like $320 to redo my seat. I can't remember if that was return shipping included or not though.
I ended up having it done locally and kind of wish I would have just sent it to Corbin.......or Sargent to recover.
There is a yellow one on Ebay right now with a starting bid of $400. The listing claims it was $900 new.

SHHHHHHHHHHHHH, I'm watching that one for my GF's bike!
I have one (in yellow). The paint matches fairly well, but I have no idea how Corbin thought their mold matched the contours of the VFR's plastics--the fit is only barely adequate...
Ciao,
I wonder how these would work with luggage mounts, SW Motech specifically.
JZH......I was thinking the same thing. Personally, I would love to have one, as I ride by myself 98% of the time and having a small trunk would be very, very nice! But every picture I've seen of them, they seem to have pretty large gaps where the trunk part meets the bike plastic. My stock solo cover fits waaaay more closely than how those look to fit......at least in pictures, as I've never seen one IRL. Maybe its different in person??

I think they're all hand made. The one I had fit pretty snug along the sides, the rear didn't match up as well.
