If You Have One Of My Custom Clutch Covers...

If I have supplied you with a cover, and you have installed it on your bike, could you kindly post a picture here of the right side of your bike? Please include the whole bike in the picture and a close up of the cover.

There's a ton more in my gallery but I thought these were the best ones.

BTW Seb, the clutch cover gets the most notice of any of the mods on the bike. Everyone says how neat it is!

Have you considered painting your pressure plate blue to match the bike color?

I kinda like the silver.  It makes it stand out even more.

I wonder how it would look to polish the plate and light up the inside... lol.

Given that the engine internals are running at a negative pressure in the 7th gen, I wonder what effect, if any, that would have on the plexi...  Looks like the clutch area is NOT pressure controlled by this diagram, but wonder if anyone knows for sure:

I may be wrong (again) but I think the area for the clutch cover is under pressure from the oil scavenge pump and nut under a vacuum (or negative pressure) as the crankcase is.

Anybody know for sure?

Key question for me is how quickly this can be turned around......

Looks like they range from ratty (750cc cover beat to snot for 5 bucks) to nice.

None for the 12's though. :(

One of the ratty ones is ratty right around where it's going to get cut apart, and I think it was only $5. A nicer shiny one is $50. Really depends on how much it costs to mail your original internationally, and then not riding for the three months it takes to get here and back. 

I think I would have been pretty surprised if I saw them for the 1200 already.

With Timmay having my back, this will work out.   all we need now is enough participants to warrant another batch...

I'm mulling over the color to give to the plate visible under the lexan,  cobalt blue I think.....  (and the cover stripped of paint, to be in "balance" with the sprocket cover on the other side.....)

CIao Seb, alberto is gere fromitaly. Do you remember me? the windowed clutch for the honda rc30? the dry clutch project is STOPPED for the moment due  to lack of resources. If only i could spend one week with you with my rc30 i think we will make the clutch in 10 days....

let me summarize quickly : the primary gear where holds the clutch basket, removed from the basket , is a nice gear. rebuildin this big gear , with no springs, and with a " cup" to receive the new dry basket ( from ducati ) i have been asked  , listen carefully : 650 EURO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for one gear. is that too much? am i asking for " stars"??? i think is too much expensive. beside that. step 2, i copyed from a clutch gasket the shape of rc30/vfr750 in order to have a workable autocad file ( printed it matches 98% size and shape ) if this job i have made helps you i can send you by mail so , this stuff for the plate " to close the engine laterally and have the plate milled from a thick plate of alloy. i do not need a " basket" containint the backet clutch, i'd like simply the clutch outside. i will post example picture. so would you like to cooperate , once more? i think some kits will be very happily sold and easily.



ps: guys. i am very far , with few friends that wish to share and cooperate the idea of the dry clutch. i have a rc30 / vfr750f 1993 engine open so i can help with dimensions and a lot of sutff but machining for me is too difficult and expensive. just for istance .Sebspeed made for my honda rc30 the windowed clutch from a 1990 clutch cover ( 100% compatible ) so the starting point is good. i can share as much as is on " my hands" but i need more help.

who wish to " subscribe" this fool idea?

So dissapointed. not long before the Kootney Hootenany and seeing Veffer's bike I tossed a cracked side cover in the scrap metal bin; would have been perfect for this!

Does anyone know for sure that there IS a difference in the side cover between 90-91 and 92-97 VFR750F's?

Partzilla lists 11330-MT4-000 for 90-91

and

11330-MY7-000 for 92-97

Hey Dutchy, on fifth gens there is too much structual material that would need to be removed to fully expose the art work.  You'll just have to settle for a peek. Sometimes, I'm sure you'll agree, just a peek is more exciting than the full view. :cool:

Hey Seb, do you know yet if it is feasible to produce one of those beautiful peek-a-boo clutch covers for the 8th Gen?

I was trying to think of a way to make my new baby stand out just a bit and I think this is a tasteful way to go.

Plus you're not all that far from me.  I could swing by and get to meet the man who seems to be so impressively handy.

I trailered Virginia down to Fort Wayne IN for Jamie Daugherty's suspension upgrades at the end of January and while having breakfast at a F W Ihop, a a fellow steps up to my table and asks if that is my great looking 5th gen with the Clear Clutch Cover on the trailer in the parking lot. V4Rocket, a VFRD member, said it blew his mind to see a beautiful VFR in F W in the middle of the winter. Not the first time someone has been stopped in their tracks over the SSCCC (SebSpeed Clear Clutch Cover). It also happened to me in Utah and California last year.

And don't forget all the MotoGP Umbrella Girls that will mob you when they see how cool you are!
