Our fearless leader is in danger of losing the Veefalo and he needs our help. So many people here gave an incredible level of support after TMAC 2010, and now it seems that HS needs to see some more of that Honda camaraderie.

The forum's annual needs have already been met, but that doesn't mean you missed your chance to contribute. If you missed the Operational Budget bus and you weren't around for the 2010 collection, don't fret because here's your chance to be part of something amazing!

Right now, we're looking at something that seems daunting but not impossible: $3,800 in 29 days (through June 26)

That breaks down to only $38 across 100 members, which means just 3 donations a day will be more than enough, and I know we have more than 100 members who benefit from this forum each and every day. If we don't get what we need, then as close as possible would still be a huge help and would keep our CEO happy and healthy.

Miguel has built an incredible place for us to meet, greet, and learn. Many donations have been made to keep the forum up and running, but in addition to contributing to the community, we shouldn't forget the man behind the scenes.

How bout a challenge. I know Veefalo has helped me out in the past with questions I have posed over the years. Count me in. Donation made.

Is there a PayPal Gift option so they don't take their cut?

Is there a PayPal Gift option so they don't take their cut?

Yes, Gift is an option and includes No Fee's.

I did not see that as an option stepping through the donation process as you normally would when someone such as a vendor sends a request for funds.  Possibly the VFRD link to Paypal needs to be set up differently in some way.   Or maybe I missed it - I looked closely - but if so, someone post up how to do it.

Miguel is a great guy and I'm glad to have met him and that he's taken on sharing information about our passion of motorcycles. This website has saved me thousands of dollars by the information shared in the "How to" sections, so the least I can do for a friend is help them out of a jam. Just sent $40. Get out of debt, dude! And hang on to that bike - you've earned it!

We're at $190 . . .   It's been about 20 mins and we already have 5% of what we need.  We can make this happen.

#8
I assume we just donate to the 2014 Operational Budget as that's the only option.
#9

That's what I did.

Kind people, just saw this.  I'm in for fifty.  Hope I do this right = paypal to the site.

#12

What are we donating for? I may have missed something....

#13
Veefalo is in the Classifieds due to a $3,800 IRS tax error.
#14

We're at $350 - almost 10% of the way there already!!

FTIRS. We should all ride to DC, and kick their asses.

It wasn't their mistake either when the tax software I used screwed me out of thousands of dollars. Doesn't make 'em any less evil. I feel Miguel's pain.

In all fairness, it wasn't their mistake, but that doesn't overshadow the fact that Miguel still needs our help after giving us so much.

This is what makes this forum great! a bunch of like minded people helping each other, I have met quite a few people on this forum that I now consider friends and this would be a great way to help out someone who has created this forum for us to enjoy!!

Help please.

On the home page, next to the "Donate" button, enter the amount you'd like then click on "Donate".  That will take you to Paypal where you'll enter your Paypal email address and password to login to complete the process.

This is going great!

Done     thanks  for  the  hard  work Miguel   !!!

Aren't we compounding the problem by paying the bill? Out of all the members here, no one is a tax attorney? Or know one, married to one, etc.?

#30

Since the error was a computational mistake (I think he slipped a decimal point or something like that), the only solution is to pay it.

In case anyone was wondering, I wanted to mention one other thing - I recall it being alluded to earlier.  You might think "won't he have to pay tax on the money we donate?"  In a word, "no".   By law, each year any U.S. taxpayer can make a gift of up to $14,000 to any number of people they like free of tax.   I work in the financial services industry and we help customers with this all the time - usually to their children - but this is no different.   None of these gifts are anywhere close to that limit, so it's all good.

Cheers

Thank you to everyone for their amazing generosity and support. HS has enough to take care of the remainder so the donations are closed. It really is true that you meet the nicest people on a Honda.

God bless and thank you.

I pulled the plug on this one here is how it ended, just to be transparent.  It was a really unexpected honor and truly I do not deserved it. I screwed up and 58 people thought I needed the help.  4 people offered me a loan, several passed and I don't hold a grudge, no reason to really, and I appreciate your candor in the other threads and your opinion matters.  I dont ride as much as I used to, but went out today with my friend Yokle on the veefalo and rode as well as I ever have.  Mostly dont ride as much because of less cash available to do so and some of my regular riding buddies stopped riding too.  I attended the tmac and had a great time and toward the end I was riding pretty good, and met some new people renewed some friendships and met a great gal too.
