Last 50 of 70- 1200 Engine blown at 32000 miles??? I had 60k+ on mine when I sold it. Never a single motor issue or noise. I've never heard of an engine mechanical issue on these before.
- Gearchange strangeness I noticed poor shifting on my 5th gen with Mobil synthetic motorcycle 10w-40. I switched to Rotella T6 synthetic 5w-40 and it shifted much nicer. Might be something else, just a thought though.
- Rescuing a '92 VFR750F You should seriously check out the blog posts and how-to's at v4dreams.com He does a great job at restorations and has some very good tips for saving plastics and other original parts. I go just to see what the guy is…
- I wondered where the cool VFR-wear was Goldcrown44, 5/22/2020 at 2:36 PM That's too bad because if they had a positive following/good rep I'm certain a lot of peeps here would be buying from them. The graphics look really great! I actually sent them a…
- I wondered where the cool VFR-wear was They seem to have pretty bad reviews when I look them up. Sounds like a lot of customers never receive their order.
- SEBSPEED 5/6th Gen Center Stand Stop If this would fit a 5th Gen, I'd probably be in for one. My center stand doesn't contact my two brothers exhaust in the correct place.
- 2010 VFR1200 w/Luggage $4900 (WI) 2010 Honda VFR1200 53,xxx miles Manual transmission ABS anti-lock brakes Bike is in very nice shape Very clean Very well maintained Factory hard luggage Helibars Factory heated grips with 3 heat settings Saddlemen seat…
- 07 R1 Racecar Project Cranks but Won't Start I bit the bullet and ordered a used gauge cluster on Ebay. Uggg....It wasn't cheap. The US bikes did not have the immobilizer, so that is one thing I don't have to worry about. I will check the voltage at the ignition…
- 07 R1 Racecar Project Cranks but Won't Start I do not have the OEM gauge cluster. I have a Mychron gauge cluster that I will be using, that is very small, as I don't have much room near the steering wheel. Unfortunately, I don't have an oscilloscope to look at the…
- 07 R1 Racecar Project Cranks but Won't Start Hello, I have installed a 2007 Yamaha R1 engine in my SCCA D-sports (P2) racer build. I got the engine installed back in summer 2017, and was able to get it fired up with the stock wiring harness, with a few connectors…
- May Need a Gen 8 Now Thanks guys. Is it possible to order the Japanese parts from here in the states, or won’t Honda even sell the parts over here?
- May Need a Gen 8 Now So if I pick up an 8th gen, where can I get those fairings? Can we order them here in the US? looks like the forks are silver instead of bronze too. That is a great looking bike.
- Glacier National Park Aug 28 - Sept 5 Cogswell, 5/30/2018 at 9:35 PM In addition to the above, if you have time to weave in Lolo pass from Lolo, MT to Lewiston ID that's a can't miss road too. The pic is just past the pass summit near the ID/MT border.…
- Glacier National Park Aug 28 - Sept 5 Tiutis, 5/30/2018 at 8:11 PM Glacier is on my to do list but if you do Beartooth on a way home, be sure to hit Chief Joseph ! You can thank me later:) I had never heard of that before. I'll have to check it out.…
- Glacier National Park Aug 28 - Sept 5 Hey guys and gals. I'm riding through glacier national park with my GF during the end of August and the beginning of September. We'll be staying on the east side for the first 3 or 4 days, and the west side for the rest…
- The VFR1200 is no longer on Honda's website I have a 5th gen as well as a 1200. I really wish the exhaust note was better on the 1200. It's a shame they stopped selling it because it is better in almost every way than my 800. The exhaust note on the 800 is much…
- How old are VFR owners? I'm 31, but have owned the VFR800 since I was 23. Had an older VF700F Interceptor since I was 17.
- LZR-17 _ VFR800 PROJECT _ V4R Is that a Mach Z in the background of one of those first photos? Is that in your garage? Nice build BTW.
- Coming From a 5th Gen to a 6th Gen, will I be disappointed? The suspension was better on my 6th gen. The engine was better and ran cooler on my 5th gen. I liked the sound of my 5th gen more as well. I sold my 6th gen and kept my 5th. I was slightly disappointed with the 6th gen.…
- Helmet in Factory Side Case? A Medium Scorpion EXO-1000 wouldn't fit. My XXL definitely won't fit. I was more than a little disappointed with that.
- Arse friendly Sargent seat I am in Madison. If I still have both the seats you are welcome to come and sit on them. No problem.
- Arse friendly Sargent seat The Sargent was softer than the Corbin, and was a huge improvement over the stock seat, but I think I actually like the firmness of the Corbin better. However, the Corbin seemed to have a hump in the middle of the seat,…
- Had my 5th gen for about 18 months, and like it more now than i did then 13 minutes ago, KevCarver Cool man, glad you like it! I still dig my '99 and probably more than when I bought it in '03. Plenty of others have come and gone from my garage, but it stuck. (And I actually prefer the fast…
- Coolant burning RDMcD, 12/13/2016 at 5:36 PM If it's never been done you need to give all the hose clamps a turn. One is likely weeping around the thermostat, under the throttle bodies. I second this theory. My '98 didn't stop leaking…
- Returning Rider: VFR 800 or 1200? I own a '98, sold my 2007 RWB this summer, and picked up a 2010 VFR1200 a month ago. The stock suspension was superior on the 07 when compared to the '98, but the '98 engine definitely feels smoother, got better…
- Bike stolen and recovered. Time to track it? FullTilt151, 9/4/2016 at 2:55 PM Nice pics! I've begun pulling all the street parts off. I know the center stand is the first thing that should go but I gotta get a single sided swingarm stand first. I'd love to find…
- Bike stolen and recovered. Time to track it? I say go for it. VFRs make fun track bikes. [image: IMG_8360sm.jpg] [image: IMG_0074sm.jpg] [image: IMG_0547sm.jpg]
- Getting about 115 miles until the fuel guage flashes I'd say you've got an issue if you're only getting 115ish miles on a tank. My '98 Gets around 40-44 MPG at a spirited pace around curvy Southern Wisconsin roads. Maybe you've got a stuck injector or something. How does…
- Anybody do track days? Are all 3 of those shots you?
- Anybody do track days? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fW9TujlX8GA Here is a vid of one of my sessions at Road America on the '04 VFR. It definitely doesn't have the power down the straightaways that a liter bike does. This was the first time…
- Anybody do track days? How was your cornering school? Enjoy it? I had a track day at Road America with the VFR yesterday and it was great. The VFR could use a bit more power on a track like that, but it was not a slouch by any means.
- Arse friendly Sargent seat I just ordered a new Sargent. Going to compare it to my Corbin and keep whichever one I like better!
- Arse friendly Sargent seat Dang, I thought you were selling one. I was going to call dibs!

- Anybody do track days? A pic from the first track day with the bike. The VFR in its new environment! [image: 20160525_085749sm.jpg]
- Anybody do track days? Here is the nearly finished paint job. Still have to add some black to the rear seat cover. Also have to add decals. Not sure if that part will get done before my first track day of the year next Wednesday. [image:…

- Anybody do track days? BR, it is in the midst of a new paint job. First track day for me this year is 5/25. I will send you some picture or post some up here when It's ready.
- Anybody do track days? DachshundUberAlles, 4/28/2016 at 11:56 AM I'm curious why you'd bother with a VFR when you have a far better for track specific bike. I use a VFR because that's all I've got. If my circumstances were such that my time…
- Anybody do track days? Baileyrock, 5/2/2016 at 5:46 PM So after selling it I ended up building this VFR Vtec Track Pig w/Catless headers, PC3, F4i forks, etc. [image: vtec track bike 034.jpg] Bike felt great, BR And then I bought the track…
- Wisconsin Riders? 15 hours ago, perseverantist Good to know... I'll hit ya'll up in a week or two. Found a decent route for around here following 78 south to Argyle, Gratiot, into Illinois. Fairly curvy for these parts. Once the fields…
- DLX Options Whenever I get my '07 Anniversary sold, I'm looking at a '14 standard. I don't really want anything except the hand warmers and Centerstand, the later of which I'll just buy used off of ebay for $30 of of a 6th gen. It…
- Picture Thread perseverantist, 4/28/2016 at 5:31 PM A few pics from the last week... [image: P4200363.JPG] [image: P4200364.JPG] [image: P4200369.JPG] [image: P4230379.JPG] I recognize those places. Go by them quite often.
- Anybody do track days? I'm building an '04 VFR for Track Days. Should be done in 2-3 weeks. I've done track days at Road America and Blackhawk Farms on my F4i and GSXR. It's so much fun. [image: IMG_5949sm.jpg]
- First Time Buying Rubber Shoes......no Idea Where To Start Duc2V4 For the record, I have been running a Pilot Power 3 front with either a PR2 or a PR4 rear and have been able to go over 10k miles. I am currently running a PP3/PR4 combo again. I should also state that most of…
- Which Heated Grips? I put a toggle switch boot over my switch to keep the water out. Seems to be working well. No problems over the last 5 years.
- Won't Crank After Running Hot Glad you got that taken care of. Mine would do it very intermittently. Ended up being a battery as well.
- Won't Crank After Running Hot I had this same problem with my 5th gen. Turned out to be a bad battery. But definitely check all connections on the positive and ground side of the battery cables first.
- Which Used Vfr Would You Lean Toward? I've got an 07 for $4400 in the classified section. Otherwise, I'd go with the 04. Gotta love the hardbags.
