Nothing new. Same concept show bike and promo stuff we have already seen. I registered to "win" a test ride even though it appears to me to really be a way for Honda marketing to gather your information, but hey, I also occasionally buy a lottery ticket too. Also, it is UK and elsewhere oriented. Nothing there aimed at the good old US of A. When registering you cannot select USA from any of the Country Choices. You have to type it in. I guess Honda will email me when they actually have something as they now have that information again, since they already did from the Honda Riders Club info I gave them. OK, by me since my 07 will be paid for by the time we actually see this new bike.

Yeah, I noticed this too. I am gonna be SO dissapointed if this bike doesn't come to the states (like some other Honda models) or they delay it's entry here by a year or two. I believe they did the delay thing with the ST1300. At any rate, I think it's clear that Honda takes the European market much more seriously than it does the market here in cruiser country.

I'm guessing you weren't previously signed up for email notification from that site. The fine print in the email states:

You are right. I was at the local dealer on Saturday getting my Michelin's mounted. And they had some type of ride going on. There was a bunch of cruisers there. The dealer had a Fury sitting out in the middle of them. I asked the one saleman about it. He said that they sold 6 of them this month so far, and had orders for 6 more today. And said that when they get one in. It sits 2 days tops on the floor before getting sold. :blink: Go figure why we get what we get. Not hard. :(

Or at least, don't get it first. I've been the second or third owner of several first-years bikes, and they've performed admirably, especially the Hondas.
OTOH, I've been looking for a new bike for some time now, but my money's stayed in my pocket because there's nothing out there that I like well enough. This could be the machine that pushes me off the fence. It will no doubt have some teething pains, but I do think Honda will take care of me if I pull the trigger.

To be fair, I wouldn't expect this new bike to have any major issues, maybe a few minor niggles at most. Besides the Euro's will work them all out for us for the first 2 years before it comes stateside.
Remember, we got the DN-01 and the FURY instead!!! ;p
I just know first-hand from working in Honda's automobile segment for the last quarter century (wow, I feel old now) that the first year is when we get most of the service bulletins and product updates, etc.
I am really starting to get pissed off at honda, do they not listen to the western riders, a fricking scooter give me a break, a video clip of some fag and fancy fairings, if this bike is crap i am selling all my hondas and going with truimph.... this sucks ass
It's all "Adventures in Value Subtraction". Oh look! Shiney New Widget Farkle-ations! The days of Honda actually listening to riders (at least here in North America) are way, way over.
Riddle me this: If people from this forum, such as Safe-T, Veefer800canuck, Tok-Tokkie, FotoMoto, zRoYz, BusyLittleShop, Darth Bling, and on and on, can make some of the COOLEST bikes around (the stuff that makes all of us oogle like little girls) with extremely limited resources; how come Mother HONDA, with her absolutely unlimited resources, keeps coming up with space-age value subtracted junk?
Don't get me wrong here. I thought that TRON was pretty cool for a movie. I just wish that a motorcycle could continue to look like a motorcycle.
I guess I'm the one that's out of touch. Oh well, back to my garage to finish building MY seventh gen. I suggest you do the same.

And the Canadian market :biggrin: we always got and still get the VFR in colors other than red and the odd black one like the US gets stuck with, ya I know red is the fastest LOL.

Tell us how you really feel.
I understand why Honda is in the fence. Bringing a new model to market is a huge gamble.
If I am in charge of product decisions and I wish to keep my job, I'd rather stick with a sure thing - cruisers. This does not explain DN01 though.
If I were in charge of marketing decisions at Honda, I'd get together with the other manufacturers and invest some money in Discovery series about ST bikes, the people who own them and the kinds of experiences that can be had on these bikes worldwide. That should open up the currently shrunken ST market, b/c it just might have the potential to be the biggest one yet. Just think about it. It caters to the demographic that has the money to buy the bikes and the farkles.

True, but some of the die-hard ST folks stick with their existing bikes a long, long time - like '80s/'90s BMWs and some older Goldwings. Heck, I bet there are still plently of people touring on 1st gen Connies!
Next bike will be a ~1000cc V2 or V4 standard/naked/streetfighter ala Tuono/Streefighter/SuperDuke. I got no use for a 1200 tourer, unless it handles like the current 800cc VFR, then they have my interest. I do more in-city riding in Vegas than I do touring, so I need a bike that better fits daily riding habits. And I can always toss soft bags on a standard ;)
I am glad though that Japan is reaching out to Europe for design queues.
sorry for the post before, corrected,, anyways this video clip doesnt show the whole bike and it doesnt look like the "spy photos" posted in MCN a few days ago, does anyone really know which style they are going to release, and when does it hit our shores
